The Other 9 To 5: Volatl Demf Afterparty

  • VOLATL Talent Management and Promotions return once again to Detroit during Paxahau’s Movement festival to bring you another outstanding afterparty event; “The Other Nine To Five”. Located at the historic Music Institute Building, also known as Bert’s On Broadway, during the evening of Saturday, May 24th, 2008, VOLATL promises to provide another forward-thinking round-up of talent from different parts of the world. After hosting last year’s Return of Tronic Treatment with such names as Christian Smith, John Selway, Tony Rohr, Deetron, and other renowned artists, the VOLATL crew present an even more esoteric lineup, ranging from jack techno, to stripped down minimal beats, and house infused grooves. The Other Nine to Five will be featuring Brooklyn-based Ransom Note label boss Adultnapper. From Berlin/New York Clink Recordings and Klickhaus co-owner Camea; Freak n Chic and Circus Company recording artist Miss Fitz, and Lick My Deck Record’s K.atou will be doing a back to back dj set which will nothing short of amazing. In addition, from Los Angeles, Kenneth Gibson, aka [a]pendics Shuffle will be making his awaited appearance this year with his ultra funky liveset which has taken him all over the world. To top things off, Kate Simko, from Spectral Sound, who's live performances marked her as one of the artists to watch, will be doing her sexy minimal techno liveset which was a highlight of the Ghostly/Spectral Boat Party this past WMC in Miami. Rounding things out is Lunatik, from Leftroom records performing a liveset Among the many flavors and styles of techno that will be represented this evening, VOLATL’s roster of artists will be making their appearances as well. Included will be a dj set by Tony Kasper, he will be debuting some newly released material on labels such as Klectik and Kompute Musik, this man has been utterly busy in the studio, getting ready to blow your minds with his style of aggressive, big room, funky techno. Dave Powers will be doing a liveset, after releasing his first self-produced EP on Klectik, with a remix by Camea, this guy will be ready to get the floor crunked up. Klectik co-owner Jason Patrick will be making his liveset debut for the Detroit festival weekend. Dirtybird will be present to make sure the rumps are shaking with her minimal techno style, which has been recognized by an upcoming remix project with legend Derrick Carter and EP's for Italobusiness. Bert’s On Broadway is a two level venue located in downtown Detroit, only blocks away from the Movement festival and all major hotels. SOURCE AUDIO will provide the massive sound force for the event that will literally shake partygoers to the core with a reinforced with a massive sound rig that will rival anything during the festival and afterparties.
