Flux Christmas Party with Eddie C, Marcel Vogel & Alland Byallo

  • After two nomadic months for Flux, with parties thrown at Full Circle and The Geodome, we will be returning to our home at The Beaver Works on December 11th, bringing you your annual dose of festive fun, with 'A Night Before Christmas'. Joining us will be a host of Leeds debutantes: in the Main Room will be Canadian disco legend, Eddie C, eclectic Dutchman, Marcel Vogel, and Odd Socks founder, Dickon. In the basement we will be hosting a Bad Animal takeover, with label boss Alland Byallo heading up proceedings alongside labelmates Aartekt and Flux resident Archie. FB Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/198313487022166/ Artists // Raised in Southern Ontario somewhere between Detroit and Montreal, Eddie C began his experiments in music some time in the late 80s. Inspired first by Hip Hop and the burgeoning Acid House scene, he began making tape edits of late night radio and shortly thereafter began visiting record shops and warehouse parties to discover the music first hand. Record collecting has since been a way of life for the man. His raw yet sophisticated approach to production has yielded countless releases and remixes since just 2009 and his now renowned eclectic and passion-fueled DJ sets have garnered a cult following world wide. Eddie C could well be described as one of the Slo Mo/ Edits/ Disco scene's heaviest hitters. Having graced labels from Jiscomusic, Endless Flight and Crue-L to Sleazy Beats, Wolf Music, 7 Inches of Love & Home Taping, amongst others, with his deep, lush and beautiful groove, the fact is, the guy hardly needs an introduction. We are privileged to be bringing him to Leeds. Marcel Vogel, aka 'The Bearded Lumberjack', is originally from rural Germany. Now based in Amsterdam, chopping up soulful tunes professionally and releasing some of these on his Lumberjacks in Hell imprint is his calling. Many influences shine through when Em Vee is behind the decks: the heat and energy of the Chicago Disco masters, the grittiness of the Detroit godfathers, the playfulness of Berlin's freestyle jocks and the soulful tradition of New York Garage. We are very excited to bring him to Leeds for his first opportunity to chop some wax and heat the dancefloor up! Rounding off Room 1 will be another German resident, although originally from the UK. Dickon Stone is co founder of Berlin based record label, Odd Socks. They have impressed over the past year with an extremely strong string of releases featuring exciting young artists such as Glenn Astro, Saine and Leeds favourite, Josh T of Louche. Born in Los Angeles, Alland Byallo began his musical journey at a young age, trying his hand at piano and trumpet as a young boy and influenced by the experimental electronic sounds of the early 90s. Gaining global attention producing gems for definitive record labels such asPoker Flat, Liebe*Detail, Real Tone, and Dirt Crew, Alland’s ongoing DJ residency at San Francisco's legendary [KONTROL] party found him sharing the stage with a roster of talent that reads like a who’s who in underground house and techno, leading to a solid demand for Alland at dance music gatherings around the globe. a move to Berlin has Alland expanding his horizons and focusing not only on DJing and producing but also, label management, with the launch of Bad Animal. An independent imprint with charitable aims, Bad Animal is set to explore the more intimate side of dance music and cultivate productions from Alland and a close-knit group of friends (including Flux residents Aartekt). We look forward to welcoming him to Leeds for the first time. Get in touch // [email protected]
