Coma 2nd Anniversary with Token Records & Belief System Records

  • After a well deserved summer break we come back to celebrate our 2 years of activity. Two magic years in which we made people smiling, dancing, having a great time! Two years which have seen us bringing some very talented artist to the city the very first time! This time around we are very pleased to have two great labels showcasing their unique sounds in two different rooms! TOKEN RECORDS presents "Frames Of Reference" Album Launch Ø [Phase] (Token Records) Not only this will be the occasion to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary all together, but it will also be the very first time that Ø [Phase] will present his upcoming "Frames Of Reference" album to a UK audience. ‘Frames of Reference’ is the some 12 years in the making debut album from UK based techno producer Ø [Phase]., best known by his work on the Belgium based Token Records his style ranges from gritty minimal techno to Detroit influenced material. Now after a string of acclaimed releases on Token and a selection of remixes for the likes of Robert Hood, Mark Broom and Peter Van Hoesen comes Ø [Phase]’s debut long-player ‘Frames of Reference’. “I've intended to do an album for a long while. The tracks draw upon ideas going back to various points over the last 12 years or so - some of the hooks I wrote years ago other bits are brand new. In some ways I wanted it to reflect a personal arc and the way I tend to do things - never rushed!” Inigo Kennedy (Token Records / Semantica / Prosthetic Pressing) A pioneering and internationally respected techno and electronic music producer and DJ. Inigo is well known for always bringing technical and creative originality and skill to his work. He runs the innovative and genre defying label Asymmetric. He has been responsible for a diverse back-catalogue of releases on a wide variety of labels and projects around the World. His discography stretches to over 100 releases. His DJ schedule has taken him to all corners of the World. Kr!z (Token Records) Being a respected & established value in Belgium for a decade and a resident-dj for Belgium's legendary techno night 'Kozzmozz', his dj-schedule now takes him all over the world. In 2007, Kr!z felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn't get a proper release, so he started his own label 'Token'. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful techno sound. In the 5 years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy, Phase, Luke Slater, James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Xhin, Sigha & Peter Van Hoesen, amongst others. Also the Token label night concept took off with great success after memorable nights in Berlin (Berghain & Tresor), Brussels (Fuse), Shanghai, London, Rotterdam, and more. With big projects regarding Coma and some new time spent in the studio, the future looks bright for the young and talented man! BELIEF SYSTEM RECORDS SHOWCASE Ritzi Lee (Belief System) One of the Dutch Techno Masters is dropping into town for the first time with his 909 in hand to bring you one of his infamous sets! Born and raised in Amsterdam Ritzi grew up surrounded by some of the most influential producers, DJ's, events & festivals Europe had, and still has to offer. His weekends while at university were spent being entertained by DJ's the calibre of Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad, Dave Clarke, Dimitri, Luke Slater & The Advent to name but a few. These days however it's Ritzi's records that are found at Awakenings when these DJ's play while Ritzi is now found on the same line up. 2003 saw the birth of his record label, Underground Liberation, releasing the first EP Bitter Sweet in 2004. Between then and now his label has went from strength to strength and Ritzi has also remixed tracks for several other influential producers on their own labels including Orlando Voorn, Jamie Bissmire, Ben Sims, The Advent, Robert HOOD, Kevin Saunderson and Planetary Assault Systems aka Luke Slater. Ritzi's style of DJing takes in many flavours, all enhanced by his own live production on a Roland 909. Dropping funky techno bombs, between the deep and the dark, all sewn together flawlessly by his use of effects and his trusty 909. Rehmeyer aka Patrick Walker (Forward Strategy Group / Belief System) He has been a regular fixture on the UK club/party scene since the age of 17 playing alongside everyone from Ricardo Villalobos to the Orb and has been a regular fixture at local nights such as Dogma, Lift, and many more including the legendary Eurobeat 2000, launchpad for artists such as Dave Clarke, Damon Wild and Nigel Richards (Suphurex). Solenoid - Live (Belief System / Graphene) Solenoid has only released one 12" yet but it became one of the favourite records of 2012 so we didn't want to miss the opportunity to have him play a live PA of his own material for you guys. He's been in the game for a long time and has released music under different names on various labels so there's a good possibility some of you might have already crossed paths with his sounds earlier. Diego Hostettler (Belief System / Kanzleramt) Swiss born Diego Hostettler has released more than fifty 12”s and a total of eight albums on labels like Kanzleramt, Tronic, U-Turn and Damage Music. Growing up around raw motor city sounds, Hostettler has also produced both albums and EPs with Voco Derman as Shapes & Sounds, each one exploring dub, downbeat and more serene sounds as well as his techno staple. Belief Systems is his new imprint launched in cahoots with close friend Dave Ellesmere, which will focuses on raw techno, acid and more electronic experimentation, whilst many more releases with studio mates Heiko Laux will also come on Hostettler’s main home, Kanzleramt, and its sub label U-Turn. As well as honing his own unique take on techno for the past decade, so too has Hostettler been a much in demand DJ, weaving unpredictable journeys through sound at esteemed festivals like Awakenings, Melt and I Love Techno, as well as at influential clubs like Berghain, Tresor, Melkweg, Rex Club and many more across Europe, Japan and the Americas.
