  • Goodbye winter, Welcome Summer. Melbourne will once again host the biggest day party to celebrate 2014 as Welcome Summer returns. Last year’s waterside extravaganza at Docklands’ Shed 14 featured the inaugural Australian performance from Masters At Work (Kenny Dope & Louie Vega). Over the years, Welcome Summer’s hosted some of the biggest names in electronic music’ Bob Sinclair, Martin Solveig, Dimitri from Paris, DJ Spen, John Dahlback and The Shapeshifters have all graced Welcome Summer in past years. But this year we’ve gone one better with two superstars of the modern era making their way to Welcome Summer. January 1st 2014 will be a double celebration as we’re celebrating our 5th anniversary with another colossal event. Headlining Welcome Summer is a man who needs little in the way of introduction. He says Music is The Answer, and few would disagree. New Yorker Danny Tenaglia’s been plying his trade since the age of ten and has remained prolific since. Hailed as the ‘DJs DJ’, Tenaglia’s roof-raising productions, remixes and live performance have earned him Grammy nominations, countless awards and a swagger of lucrative remixes for some of the most high-profile artists on the planet, including a remix of Yoko Ono’s Walking on Thin Ice, her first Billboard number one. The American’s graced the decks in some of the globe’s greatest clubs ‘ Pacha, Roxy and Space just a few, and after a whopping 30 years of DJing, Tenaglia’s still going strong. Morgan Page says his shows always have a sense of escapism ‘ he wants the audience to leave their normal life behind and enter somewhere else for a couple hours. American progressive house and electro pioneer Morgan Page constantly delivers regardless of the setting. The LA native’s been nominated by the IDMA’s in the ‘Best American DJ’ category and has an impressive two Grammy nominations. His 2012 album In The Air earned plaudits across the globe, likewise his global hit The Longest Road. The fact that Page has remixed for Madonna, Katy Perry, Coldplay, The Police and Alanis Morissette says much about his talent as a producer and remixer. Aptly supported by some of Australia’s finest DJ’s including Stevie Mink, Steve Bleas, Peter Mac, Sarlece, Mr. Stoj, Phil K, Franky D, Simon Digby, John Course, APAP, James Belias and more, there is no better way to celebrate the new year than onthe waterfront in two huge rooms and huge and internationally renowned performers.
