It took tINI only a few years of playing in clubs to become one of Germany’s most highly acclaimed female artists in techno and house music. Her involvement with rhythms and beats started at the age of 7, when tINI, who is originally from Munich, began playing drums, while the curiosity and passion for sounds finally led her to first production attempts on her brother’s Atari. While her general interest in music has been aroused by new romantics, wave and grunge, her first dj adventures started with underground hip hop to rap. As her interest, knowledge and skills developed, her DJ style became more electronic when she stumbled upon Moodymann’s “Amerika”. It was in summer 2003 that tINI started playing frequently in clubs and events in and around Munich. First DJ appearances throughout Europe and her first own nights and residencies followed soon. In 2008 tINI joined Desolat and the Artist Alife family, after she caught attention of Loco Dice during few performances at the same spots. No doubt this was an initial spark. Becoming a constant part of the worldwide Desolat nights by that time, her profile assumed shape, while more and more clubs became aware of the curly haired talent with that powerful, vivid temper, who intuitionally knows how to enchant her crowd whether during smart-building warm-up or igniting main-time sessions. “That’s right“, her production debut on the Desolat X Sampler in 2009, became a timeless groove monster with high profile DJs worldwide and a perfect proof that future is looking bright for this grand dame of deep twisted tech funk. Residencies for Ibiza’s original Ushuaia, London’s in-demand “Fuse” events and Cocorico in Italy plus being the official tour support for Marco Carola on his worldwide album presentation were just a few highlights of recent months. The most significant highlight of this unique career has been saved for autumn 2011, when her debut artist album gets released on her label homebase Desolat. As tINI's life is ruled by magic moments and deep acquaintanceships, her first longplayer has been named after her best friend "Tessa", who was the first person to introduce her to the colourful, sometimes dreamlike world of Ibiza, where tINI spent the summer of 2010 and produced a majority of her album. It's a musical documentation of an influencing stage of life, inspired by a chaotic but at the same time peaceful island and special people she met there and who can even be heard in many of the tracks. Deeply. Impulsively. tINI. Ivan Smagghe... France's most wanted radio host and selector, Ivan Smagghe stands at the crossroads between glamorous parisian hype and musical integrity. His genre defying/defining production work originally in Black Strobe and now in It’s A Fine Line (who have recently finished Battant's second LP, As I Ride with No Horse) has connected him to and garnered the praise of (amongst others) James Murphy, Trevor Jackson, Ata, Optimo and the aforementioned Weatherall. All fellow crusaders in the fight to prove that electronic music can be so much more than a one dimensional soundtrack for a night on the lash. The success of his musical blog 'a few things from Ivan Smagghe' has generated a compilation series of edits for Paris uber-fashion store Colette. The first volume sold out in a couple of weeks. His project with Tim Paris, It's A Fine Line, has already put out numerous remixes (from Superpitcher to the XX) and releases that can't be pigeonholed (electro rockabilly on Kompakt to italo rickety disco on Marketing Music). Their new studio is now fully set for original music, remixes and production. Expect a lot more from them in 2012. Aside from his A&R role for now 10 years old label Kill The DJ (who have released the first EP of RMVN, Ivan’s project with Roman Flugel), Ivan has also started solo work (a noted remix for Parisian label Meant) as well as more planned collaborations with musical friends (Ewan Pearson and Tiga being first on the list). You can catch Ivan subverting the masses on any given weekend, all around the world. Go to http://afewthingsfromivansmagghe.blogspot.com/ for more info, thoughts, and edits. Roustam... Roustam was born in Moscow and grew up in Chicago which has left a lasting imprint on his creative and artistic life. He was raised on a steady diet of classic US House and techno in the Midwest and is a forward thinking and talented dj and producer, spending his time between Chicago, Berlin and Moscow. In his native city Roustam is well known for being the resident dj and main booker of the notorious Gipsy club. In the span of only two years Gipsy has become the premier destination for techno and house music in the Russian capital. The club's varied and all-encompassing program, which Roustam is responsible for, has featured a wide spectrum of great modern electronic artists, from Art Department and Nicolas Jaar to Ben Klock and Petre Inspirescu! In Gipsy and other places around the country Roustam has promoted events and performed with the who is who of cutting edge dance music. He has become known for comfortably fitting in as a back 2 back partner with many of his guests such as Matt Tolfrey, Droog, Clive Henry, Valentino Kanzyani, Seuil and the notoriously meticulous Romanians — Petre Inspirescu, Priku and Praslea. These daring journey sets have showcased Roustam's fluid and original style. Currently Roustam is also an integral part of the magnificent trio of accomplished producers and djs hailing from Russia, better known around the world as Special Case. As a crucial member of the collective, along with his partners Arram Mantana and Tripmastaz, Roustam has released accomplished records on Culprit (which was remixed by no other than the great Petre Inspirescu) and Souvenir. Special Case have also crafted stellar remixes for Supernature, Akbal, and Plant 74 among other labels, featuring unique takes on such artists as Tiefschwarz, Inxec & Droog and Gwen Maze. As a part of the group he has also performed at leading festivals such as Sonar, WMC and Amsterdam Dance Event and in clubs like Watergate, Odeon and Katerholzig. Special Case is three individuals with varied tastes and styles that seamlessly blend into a beautiful composition whether it's through their mesmerising sets or through breathtaking productions on tasteful labels! As a solo performer Roustam has visited most parts of his native Russia along with great destinations in Europe and USA. He has crafted complex, engaging and usually extended sets which perfectly combined all sides of house and reduced elastic techno for such great party brands as Concrete in Paris, Half-Baked in London, Kontrast in Belgium and Just Wax in Berlin. Every month he continues to captivate club audiences everywhere from Oslo to Kiev. His debut solo record "Rustospace" was signed to the respected All Inn record label. It was released to much industry and critical acclaim on their new sister label Nilla in March of 2013 and is one of the label's all time top sellers as of now! "Rustospace" features a mind-bending remix from the talented Romanian duo NoiDoi. Special Case have also a record in the pipeline with Turquoise Blue, featuring an outstanding Seuil remix. His own vinyl-only Redpanda label also dropped its first release in April of 2013 with a Phrasis Veteris record! So far this young Russian producer, dj and ambassador of quality music in the motherland is only getting started!
