  • We can finally reveal our secret guest for our collaboration with Tief on Friday November 8 in the Wick. Erring between the pseudo-classical moniker ‘Roman Wafers’ (hence hinting at an “ancient biscuit”) and his real name, the resounding ‘Bell-Towers’, Rohan is one of Melbourne’s Renaissance men. He’s part of a movement putting a fresh perspective on things down under. Along with last month’s ReviveHERs Roland Tings (Internasjonal) and Otologic (Animals Dancing) as well as Tornado Wallace (ESP Institute), Bell Towers is taking electronic music back to its roots. United through a love of “erudite eccentric” music and all-night partying, Rohan and previous guest, designer-come-DJ, Misha Hollenbach (Perks and Mini), started ‘Bamboo Musik’. Rohan’s fun, experimental productions are synonymous with the Bamboo ethos. They once hosted a jungle jam with 500 bananas hanging from the ceiling. Where better place to express his outlandish musical urges than a smoke-billowing, balloon-flickering theatre full of people going bananas? ‘Bamboo Musik’ sits alongside Otologic’s ‘Animals Dancing’ as the go to place for animalist abandon and enlightenment. Former guests include Max Dunbar, Kenji Takimi, 2manyDJs, Lovefingers and EYE Yamantaka from The Boredoms. His recent release on Prins Thomas’ ‘Internasjonal’ even includes the ode ‘Theme from Bamboo Musik’ alongside popular sleaze-jam ‘Tonight I’m Flying’ with a mix by the Idjut Boys. Its his third release after ‘Scavengers’ (Hole in the Sky) and ‘Lightrail’ (Public Possession). Every track is a charismatic adventure that reclaims sounds without losing their originality. It’s like he's gone back in time and done it all again, however it's merely a reflection of his imagination. There's a few early birds remaining for this one and standard tickets after that are £7 in advance. It will be slightly more on the door. This is real friends + fam intimate bizniz. ADV tickets below. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Resident (DJs) of the Wick Unite! "ReviveHER & Tief" is the first in a series of events that showcases the artistry of London’s finest resident DJs. The Tief crew and ReviveHER are neighbours so we decided to host the party on home turf at The Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick, where we hosted Prosumer for their first rave back in September 2012. Both nights are popular for hosting artists renowned for their knowledge as collectors and DJs DJs, as much as they are DJ / producers. Now it’s time for the residents to give us an education. This series gives you the opportunity to hear local tastemakers and curators flex their musical muscles to full strength. The resident DJs ability to anticipate and compliment different artists’ playing styles is crucial to the success of any night. They are by their very nature versatile beasts - passionate hoarders of weird wonderful vinyl and purveyors of a fine musical palate to colour every occasion. Not only do they need to ‘know their shit’ but how to be sensitive with it. As Craig Richards puts it: "I'm absolutely certain that the music lovers, not the DJs, are fit for the job—the people who can forget themselves for a moment and deliver a groove, a beginning and a sense of belief." Our residents are the reason why our guests feel so at home, many of them returning time and time again. A party set up the right way is a joy to play and that sense of enjoyment transfers to the crowd. Tief have been selling out Corsica Studios with forward thinking line-ups for two years including the likes of Omar S, Pepe Bradock, Bicep, Prosumer, Stimming, Levon Vincent, Morgan Geist, Nina Kraviz, Todd Terje and Joy Orbison to name a few. Principle resident Hesseltime also has a Rinse FM show where he’s proud to host lesser well-knowns such as Session Victim, Tornado Wallace and DJ Kon as well as household favourites. The recently founded Tief Music imprint is also now on it’s third release. Their most recent offering is an incredible afro-jam produced by ReviveHER’s studio buddies Prophets of the South. Needless to say we’re into it. The recently founded Tief Music imprint is also now on it’s third release. Their most recent offering is an incredible afro-jam produced by ReviveHER’s studio buddies Prophets of the South. With more releases on the way from Johannes Volk, Marco Bernardi, Sisterhood, Bicep, Lauer and Arttu, the tief imprint is set to go from strength to strength. We now look forward to the launch of ReviveHER records - a medium for our ‘forgotten heroes and future legends’ to collaborate and push new boundaries. We can’t wait to ReviveHER back to her roots. Memories of friends playing records at endless house parties, Henry ColouringIN's pub-squat send off, NYE at the Pennethorne and many a Beck Road after hours….it will be a celebration of musical tastes and discoveries- a time for obscure peak timers and weird Mayan slow-burners. Welcome to the family! ReviveHER & Tief
