Machine vs Pressure & I Love Acid Xmas Party

  • Two rooms, 2 Funktion-1 Rigs. Corsica Studios celebrate Xmas 2013 with a massive triple-header party. Ben Sims & Kirk Degiorgio’s “new techno” concept clubnight MACHINE goes head to head with Glasgow’s famous PRESSURE, alongside London’s longest running acid house retrospective I LOVE ACID. Machine is a clubnight championing new & upcoming techno. Founded in 2011 by UK techno heavyweights Ben Sims & Kirk Degiorgio, who as resident DJs personally choose every guest and program the nights. Since it’s inception, regular parties in London as well as editions in Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Dublin and more; Machine has set a precedent for booking only high quality and forward thinking guests - such as Rob Hood, Surgeon, Kevin Saunderson, Rolando, Adam X, Untold, A Made Up Sound, Luke Slater, Oscar Mulero, James Ruskin and many more, with the DJs moving away from their comfort zones to follow the Machine guidelines: one-off special DJ sets focussing on material 12-months old or less… This December, Machine goes head to head with Pressure, Glasgow’s famous techno clubnight run by Soma Records. Pressure’s residents Slam share the main room of Corsica Studios with Machine heads Kirk Degiorgio and Paul Mac (Long time co-conspirator with, and one half of Killa Productions & Fokus Group with Ben Sims) In control of Room 2 is I Love Acid. London’s longest running regular acid house retrospective night (monthly since 2007) celebrating the sound of the Roland TB303 in all its incarnations. I Love Acid are also known for hosting events beyond the city limits, with Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, Malta, Antwerp & more having seen parties on their shores, as well as the occasional festival stage at the likes of Bloc. Headlining is the man who’s track the night is named after, none other than Luke Vibert. Probably one of (if not the) most important and influential acid artists in the UK, pushing the sound of the 303 in new directions after acid arrived on UK shores from Chicago and Detroit in the late 80’s. Also featuring in the I Love Acid room is John Heckle, the Liverpool based acid producer who made a name for himself through releases on Mathematics and RSB at a very young age. Completing the lineup is I Love Acid hosts Posthuman and resident DJ Placid. More info & tickets coming soon. This one is going to be big.
