Surgeon - (Tresor/Dynamic Tension/Rinse FM)
Birmingham techno artist Anthony Child has rapidly built a solid and innovative catalog of dance floor techno since his Surgeon releases began appearing in 1991. Compared favourably with Detroit original Jeff Mills from his earliest Downwards singles, Child's tracks have been a mainstay in the popular Motor City DJ's sets.
Further evidence of these multifunctional production skills can be seen on Surgeon's impressive remix CV, working with the biggest names in techno (Dave Clarke, Luke Slater/PAS, Green Velvet, Hardfloor, the Black Dog
etc), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Glasgow post rock outfit Mogwai, old masters Faust and Coil and more recently, artists such as Moderat, Shed, Traversable Wormhole and Scuba.
Recently dubbed by Fact magazine as “arguably the finest techno DJ in the world”, Surgeon is naturally one of the most in demand, with recent mixes for Warp/Fabric and a schedule spread across Europe, U.S.A and Japan. He has played every key club/event/festival going, helped pioneer Birmingham’s House of God and held a 3 year residency at Tresor in Berlin during its all powerful 1990s peak. He is also one half of the much loved BMB (British Murder Boys) with Regis of Sandwell District.
Contemporary Surgeon sets are notable for experimentation with new DJ technologies, embracing cutting edge hardware and software solutions, increasingly blurring the line between a DJ set and a live performance. Surgeon is a selector of some skill and one of the most inventive and intuitive users of Ableton out there. Using techno as a vehicle to carry his artistic message, he also mixes up everything from contemporary bass music/dubstep to Rephlex esque electronica to create a coherent, intense and righteously banging whole.

Clouds - LIVE! (Turbo Recordings/Soma)
Clouds are two young Scottish upstarts named Calum Macleod and Liam Robertson. They have a sound that dances the razors edge between frenzied banger and non-shameful techno, these prodigious young'uns have garnered huge support from the current heavyweights of electronic music.
Their 2013 debut album "Ghost system rave" released on turbo recordings was called one of the best techno full lengths of the year by Resident Advisor. They have played in most of the major techno cathedrals across Europe including Berghain and have been championed by luminaries such as Ben Klock, but none of that really matters. What matters is they make some of the muckiest techno around. With great pride we welcome the pair into the Lacehouse basement for their Nottingham debut.

Visuals & Decor by Les Méchants
We have a brand new concept for the Lighting/Visual side of things from Les Méchants, we wont go into too much detail just yet but we promise this is going to be even better than the last.
Les Méchants is a London based art collective. Bringing together forward thinking architectural design, screen printing, and innovative lighting, they make one off party playthings. Only a year old, they've already developed some disgusting art installations - including a 6m tall interactive kaleidoscopic pyramid. Think Rubik's cube meets Twister on some of Hoffman's finest.
They'll be bringing some seriously slick visual trickery into the Lacehouse basement using a bespoke LED cannon and dangerously beautiful geometric patterns. Leave your 3D glasses at home.
