Cuckoo presents Soundslike

  • Cuckoo and Nightime Drama have teamed up once again, and put together a party the likes of which haven’t been seen in Adelaide for decades. Going back to our roots and finding the inspiration to move out of our comfort zones and brave the outdoors once again! We have put together a line up… We would say its one to be proud of, having both main acts hailing from the greatest Techno clubs in the world (Berghain & Panorama Bar). For the sound of our party, the location had to be perfect. The temple which is Berghain / Panorama Bar brings chills to all who enter. Its raw, industrial, stripped back décor, Minimal lighting, and whopping sound systems create the perfect setting for dancers to lose themselves in trancing rhythms and seering melodies. We’re giving people the choice to move between the outdoor Laneway area and into our very own temple. With a restricted capacity that allows the freedom to move between both areas. Shed will headline the night, he has been pioneering the recent resurgence in classic (Nostaligic?) Techno. In the truest sense of the word, his sound has brought faith back to purists who must have wondered what had become of their beloved sound. His productions have received praise from all corners of the globe, in 2008 his album “Shredding The Past” was named album of the year by Resident Advisor. Perhaps because he does not hide the fact that a large portion of his music is obviously retrospective, giving nods to the past and more modern producers gives Shed absolute freedom. Couple his productions with his now infamous live sets and it becomes obvious why he has been one of the most revered Techno producers of recent years. Joining Shed is Tama Sumo. Tama has been holding a strong position in the Berlin scene since the Mid 90’s. Starting off playing House music at Drama in Kreuzberg when everyone else was playing Techno. She gained respect quickly and soon moved on to the well known Globus/Tresor where the division of House and Techno were not so much required, opening her sets up to new possibilities of diversion and depth. In 2004 she moved on to Ostgut and sub sequentially Panorama and Berghain. A selection of Tama’s productions have been released through Ostgut Ton since 2008 in collaboration with the legendary Prosumer.
