ICSSC & LIKES OF YOU Pres. His productions of the last 5 years have preceded much of this years evolution (first wave of dub step producers realising their ambitions in techno and house stylings). Glossy features in taste making publications as far reaching as Vogue & Chanel (his track 'Numb' was the soundtrack to the recent Haute Couture collection) solidify Stott as a singular and boundary pushing producer, pushing buttons and finding fans across every genre. Clever applications of reverb and delay gives his music a powerful visual element, drawing up a grim landscape of cold winds, wet gravel and rusted machinery. Along with this comes an incomparable ear for space, Stott constructs tracks that are simultaneously smooth and rumbling, perfect for a deep home listening experience, but with all the requisite thump to make club floors move in new and exciting ways, crumbled samples melded into shadows of house and techno, the dancefloor more of a distant throb than a call for functionality, his records a potent example of how to tear apart and reassemble half-decayed samples in formidably creepy shapes. SHED Rene Pawlowitz politely shrugs off any talk about him being a 'techno visionary' and other totally justified hyperbole, but the truth is, he's one of the most exciting and consistently fantastic producers in the world of techno right now. Releasing under a myriad of different alias, including but-not-limited-2 the super fun Head High alias (remixing Joy O, & 2562). The name Rene is best known for however, is SHED. Releasing genre defining records since 2004, including 2 albums on the rigourusly purist Ostgut Ton label, and a new one on 50 Weapons, the critically acclaimed 'The Killer', he's constantly pushed the boundaries of techno with a crazy level of productivity and keen ear for the most delicious kinds of dance floor THUMP.
