After 3 monumentally successful parties in 2004, Platform 12 looks set to up-anchor once again this March for the first super-fresh breakbeat boat party of the year. The event, which saw Krafty Kuts and The Freestylers last summer, is widely regarded as one of the best nights around and to kick things off in 2005 residents Clive Morley & Ladykilla are supremely proud to welcome on board the Stanton Warriors.
Fresh from their recent outing on Radio 1’s essential mix, the Stanton’s, with a string of smash hits under their belt, have succeeded in not only bucking musical definition but have picked it up by the collar and kicked it’s ass out of the music world. With their eclectic past and drawing on some traditional sounds of underground house, hip hop, electro and funk, they’ve mixed up the old and the new and come out with something bigger than the sum of its parts, namely the Stanton sound! Not many can claim to have defined a sound but Mark Yardley and Dominic B should definitely be there if there’s ever a ruck on the subject. The Stanton Warriors have carefully honed a distinct sound that carves up dance floors through 4 corners of the world sounding fresh and bringing something new to the party. As Dom said at the start of it all when he first saw the reaction to one of their tracks at the Notting Hill Carnival ‘Everybody was dancing’. We’re a few years down the line but it’s still about ‘everybody’ and ‘dancing’ – there’s just more people at the party!
Offering some of the most unique views in London, the three tiered Dutch Master, with its completely open top deck is the perfect venue for the boat party. The vessel, which aims to get as far as the Thames Barrier before returning back, has two well-stocked bars, a chill-out room, a terrace and of course the main room which was left bursting at the seems last time round when Krafty Kuts whipped capacity crowds into an almighty frenzy.
