So the year is drawing to a close and fast approaching is the last Circus event in the capital. Looking back at fantastic line-ups and most recently another incredible show featuring the magnificent pairing of Nicole Moudaber and Monika Kruse at last months event. Circus at Egg London shows no sign of slowing down.
20th December see’s Circus at Egg London for its final audio adventure into underground House and Techno. Yousef once again creatively crafting a line up of gargantuan proportions, this instalment of the Circus extravaganzas see’s the groundbreaking label Objektivity joining proceedings.
Circus friend and cohort Dennis Ferrer is back. Having already playing at Circus in Liverpool, it seems Dennis was the perfect choice to see out an excellent year for Circus London. New York born Dennis Ferrers contribution to the House Music scene is highly regarded by his contemporaries and peers, with a truly global fan base. Dennis a noted pioneer for Dance music pushes boundaries and his constant evolution that sees him embracing the most underground aspects of the scene that he is so entrenched in. With his hallmark take on Tech and Soulful to Gospel House laced music his work is critically acclaimed in Electronic dance music circles. Responsible for Classics like ‘Sandcastles’ co-produced with Jerome Sydenham, Ferrer has seen releases on various labels such as Defected including his remix of Nick Curlys ‘Underground’ track which has hit over 600,000 plays on YouTube since its release in November 2012. Other notable labels include Z Records, Ministry Of Sound, & many more and not to forget his releases on Objektivity, Ferrer’s own imprint. Featuring artists such as The Martinez Brothers with their release ‘Don’t Know Yet’, or Sante and his ‘Need This EP’, or genre hopping Germans, Jazzanova and London producer and vocalist Ben Westbeech on their ‘I Can See’ track plus a forthcoming release from Yousef see’s Objektivity in the hearts and minds of true House music lovers. Both Circus Recordings and Objektivity labels share a similar ethos on their output hence the forthcoming remix from Dennis on Circus recordings and Yousef’s imminent release on Objektivity. Dennis joins the Circus London party after a series of shows across Europe.
German born Andre Hommen is next to join the line up. Long time touring partner of Dennis Ferrer, Hommen has already had a fulfilled career that most DJ / Producers could only dream of. From playing in venues such as Panorama Bar Berlin and Space Miami, it doesn’t end there. When Hommen is not touring by himself or with Dennis Ferrer he also finds the time to work as part of the administrative and creative team at Dennis Ferrer’s New York City based label ‘Objektivity’. As well as a behind the scene member and assisting on projects that have included artists such as ‘Loco Dice’ and ‘Argy’ Hommen is busy creating his own material. His debut release on Objektivity ‘Marashi’ was arguably one of the most played songs of 2009. Hommen will be making stops in Greece and the Netherlands before joining Circus on the 20th December.
Leading the capital on this Circus outing will be Circus’s founder and curator Yousef. After another strong year for the Circus brand across the label and events, Yousef will be stepping boldly into 2014. Undoubtedly the dance floor anthem of the summer coming via Green Velvet and his ‘Bigger Than Prince’ title has become the rally cry across dance floors around the world, placing his Circus recordings label at the forefront of underground House music. His own personal studio endeavours see release lined up with Objektivity, further strengthening this relationship, Desolat, and his own Circus Recordings. The success that was achieved with ‘Float Away’ feat The Angel is being capitalised on, plus a follow up on the Defected label to his ‘Beg’ track entitled ‘I See’ feat Charli Taft has once again reinforced the continued rise of Yousef. Adding to this Yousef has also become an in demand remixer, adding his deft touch to release on seminal labels such as Cross Town Rebels and Get Physical.
