- The Happening NYE On the 31st December 2013, a never before seen event will take place in the heart of Amsterdam’s most famous square, a very special location; the Leidseplein. illuminati AMS, Patta and Mo manager have united to bring together the best our capital has to offer in terms of music, creativity, and especially atmosphere in a "happening" of epic proportions. The Happening’ will take place in the Rabozaal (Rabo hall) of the City theatre with an line up where various music genres will be bought together by these musical greats. Despite the fact that the Rabozaal has already been in existence for four years, not many people know about this fantastic box made partly of glass, with its magnificent view of the Amsterdam canal belt! The Rabozaal is situated above the common building on the 'Melkweg' and the Amsterdam City theatre. The entrance to the Rabozaal is right next to the Melkweg bridge. When entering on the ground floor there are several broad steps leading from the cloakroom, which take you up to the Rabozaal. From there you can go further up to the New Foyer which will be magically transformed into the second hall for ‘The Happening’. It’s at this point you get a true sense of how high the Rabozaal actually is and with a fantastic view across the city it’s the ideal place to see the new year in whilst enjoying a glass of champagne and watching the fireworks explode above the city
