  • The Arches brings electronic collaboration Darkside (Nicolas Jaar/Dave Harrington) to The Art School this March for their first ever Scottish show. NOW SOLD OUT. Buy tickets for Darkside DJ set afterwards at Saint Judes (11pm-3am): http://bit.ly/1c8TSid A collaborative project between electro house wunderkind Nicholas Jaar and live guitarist Dave Harrington, Darkside was formed in 2011 while the pair were touring in Europe to promote Jaar’s ecstatically received solo album, Space is Only Noise. Whilst their debut EP Darkside, released on Jaar’s Clown and Sunset label, sparked an immediate buzz with its slick guitar-based funk and spaced-out disco vibes, it was their follow up earlier this year – a stellar full-length reworking of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories released under the name Daftside, which cemented their status as one of the most interesting collaborative projects in electronic music at this moment. Their debut album Psychic dropped earlier this year and was praised as a profoundly forward-thinking and inventive work, mixing prog rock sensibilities with Jaar’s idiosyncratic style of luscious electronic soundscapes. After hosting Nicolas Jaar’s first ever live show in the city back in 2011, The Arches is now delighted to bring Darkside to The Art School for their Scottish debut. With a growing reputation for boundary-pushing live shows that see the pair improvising together to create new, synergetic sounds, this is one of the most hotly tipped shows of the year for electronic music fans. Support comes from High Water, aka Jaar collaborator Will Epstein, who has released on Jaar’s new Other People imprint, as well as live scenography by Children Of The Light (see their Facebook page for more: http://on.fb.me/PPLVEV).
