The OFF Label has regularly held showcase events at EGG, so we are happy to announce it will celebrate its 5th birthday here on February 14th with boss Andre Crom, Leftwing & Kody, Mat Joe and RObosonic.
Crom’s label OFF Recordings, founded shortly after his move to Berlin in 2008, has become omnipresent in the Beatport deephouse charts, often having 5 tracks in the top 100 at once Resident Advisor users have shown OFF big love as well, voting its music into the “most charted top 50 of the month” for 6 months in a row. The recipe behind this success is simple: Andre Crom and OFF Recordings release music to give people on the dancefloor a good time. Nothing more and nothing less.
Given the impact they have had, it’s hard to believe Leftwing & Kody have only been around since mid-2012. The duo’s debut EP peaked at number 11 on the Beatport chart and the rest as they say is history. With an infectious sound that draws on swinging hi hats, low slung synths and masterly crafted basslines, and by joining the dots between the past and the present in their own unique way, Leftwing & Kody have since been back in the Beatport charts with releases on OFF Recordings and Exploited, all of which stayed in the Beatport top ten for over a month.
Robosonic have made great names for their respective selves in recent months. They have both championed a very modern brand of house that is quirky and full of charm, and it’s likely for that reason that Solomon has signed them up for a two track EP for his 2DiY4 label and the same reason they are such regulars on OFF. London stalwart DJ producer and remixer Mat. Joe completes the line-up.
