Through their connection with Drumcell they developed the label, production group and music collective Droid Behavior. Raíz have released affective music on labels including Electric Deluxe, Historia Y Violencia and their home base Droid Recordings. As performers, Raíz fully harness the capabilities of Traktor, Ableton, and Maschine technology to create a thick blend of Detroit-influenced techno and hard, gritty house. They take cues from dynamic performers such as Claude Young, Ben Sims, and The Advent to showcase their musical expression with a delicate balance of mixing board acrobatics and symbiotic intuition. Years of production experience inform their Live PA / Digital DJ hybrid approach, which uses each trackʼs core essentials to form a narrative arch for every unique set. Their releases follow suit, taking only key elements from each rhythmic style to shape elegant and deep and pumping tax that capture their diverse influences Links: http://www.droidbehavior.com/blog/artists-team/raiz/ http://www.facebook.com/RaizOfficial http://soundcloud.com/raiz-droid http://www.twitter.com/raiz_droid Releases : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Ra%C3%ADz Selected Mixes: http://soundcloud.com/raiz-droid/sets/dj_mixes/ Selected Press: RA Exchange podcast with Raíz + Drumcell http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?exchange=109 Raíz FWD. The re-invention manifested beyond music as the former DC native relocated to the city of Los Angeles while launching his new moniker (his actual birth name). From then on it didn't take long for him to make an impression. His track 'Prophecy' was spotted by Innervisions boss Dixon, who signed the track to his prestigious Berlin based label after road testing it at some of the world's premier parties. He followed this up with an official remix of Art Department's Burning Man anthem, ‘Robot Heart’ on No.19 records, a collaboration with production partners Lovecraft and Prab K. With upcoming tracks on All Day I Dream, Supernature and Leftroom, 2013 will be a year to watch for this fast rising producer. As a DJ, Jon Charnis' international profile has risen just as quickly. With gigs at Space, Ibiza and events at Sonar in Barcelona already under his belt, 2013 sees Jon traveling worldwide to hotspots like Berlin and London. Jon Charnis has received support by world renowned DJs such as Art Department, Dixon, Steve Lawler, Tale of Us, Thugfucker, Audiofly, Ame, Anja Shneider, Matt Tolfrey, Droog, and Daniel Bortz to name a few.
