After a killer year at Basing House, Werk now reaches the grand old age of one. Last year our guests included Citizen, Jeremy Underground Paris, KRL, Wolf Music and Hesseltime from Tief. For the birthday we're pushing the boat out with five awesome DJ’s and a 6am finish.
First off, all the way from Berlin, are Session Victim. The duo are two of the finest deep house producers in the game. SV releases such as ‘Good Intentions’ are already considered modern classics by those who know and their label, Retreat, is a one stop shop for spellbinding, disco flecked dance music. But great producers they may be, Session Victim are even better DJ’s. We’re absolutely buzzing to host them - their set promises to be a genre hopping trip straight to party central!
Next is Alexander Nut. Alex is one of Rinse FM’s finest DJ’s equally capable of spinning hip hop and dancehall as he is house and techno. A DJ’s DJ with impeccable taste you only need to listen to his Rinse 08 CD to understand how good he is at joining the dots to all kinds of unexpected music. Alex also happens to run one of the most exciting independent labels around, Eglo. Just a smattering of artists who’ve released on Eglo include label co-owner Floating Points, FunkinEven and Fatima. Basically, if you don’t know get to know post haste!
Our third headliner is Severino, simply one of the most underrated DJ’s in the game. Sevi is best known for his next level sets at Horse Meat Disco, an event he co-founded over 10 years ago. To say he’s a legend is something of an understatement. He’s now making a name for himself as a producer with top notch releases on Derrick Carter’s Classic Recordings. Expect anything from classic soul, to 80’s Chicago Trax and beyond.
As always, Werk founders Stevie T and Danny Langan will be on hand to warm things up properly.
