Distant Cousins is a new, monthly, in-house night from Corsica Studios. Each month we’ll be inviting like-minded labels, clubs, artists and friends from both near and afar to take over our main space and make it their own. Small Is Beautiful - tickets will be limited and intimacy and quality is our goal. Guests will get the chance to stretch their legs and dig a little deeper, for a little longer and friends and residents will also get the opportunity to play extended sets. So, please, come along and join the family…….
First up, we warmly welcome Don't Be Afraid to the fold. DBA have enjoyed strong association with Corsica Studios since hosting the back room of the Clone Records special in February 2013. The label celebrate their fourth birthday with a main room extravaganza which brings together five acts who have been central to their success in recent years.
Mr. G was the first artist to appear on DBA as a remixer, way back in January 2010. Since then, he has appeared on Boiler Room as part of the DBA showcase, delivering one of the most popular sets of recent years. Detroit's MGUN released his second solo single on DBA, back in 2012, and in 2013 unveiled the "If You're Reading This EP" which went on to be one of the year's most celebrated releases. Mr. Beatnick has gone from strength to strength since his DBA debut in 2011, and last year's Synthetes Trilogy compilation helped to solidify his reputation as one of the most exciting house producers around today. Label-owner Semtek and long-time resident Nick Craddock complete the bill, offering a one-off chance to experience what this label is about in the flesh.
And there you have it for our first Distant Cousins outing; 5 artists representing one of the most forward thinking electronic labels around in honour of their 4th Birthday.
