Ultraplay finished off last year with a fresh new line up of talented DJ's for Ultraplay. This month we've got two more new DJ's who have massively impressed us with their sounds and style.
First up is multi talented, Latvian Techno DJ - Mandy Freemain has been DJ'ing for 5 years, and in that time has been a resident DJ of many clubs, two of them being; Kalku Varti and the Essential Club in Riga, Lativa. In 2009 she was nominated by Latvian 'DJ Top' for Best Girl DJ and released her first production 'So Close' a year later on Latex Records. Influenced by the likes of Umek, Format B, Adam Beyer, Jay Lumen and Alan Fitzpatrick, it's no surprise Mandy Freemain's sound is firmly rooted in Techno. When she's not busy DJ'ing, she's performing as part of the super cool and eclectic 'Dubsisters', performing all things Dubstep, Electro, DnB & Trap n Bass! Mandy Freemain has recently moved to London to further her already impressive DJ career. Mandy Freemain is definitely one to watch out for!
Our second new special guest this month sent us such a cool, vinyl-only mix, we booked him instantly. It's got Sunday in Brick Lane written all over it! London based, Romanian DJ - Razvy, who was resident DJ at the Save club, Romania; specialises in after-hour and warm-up sounds. It's clearly evident whilst listening to his slick mix, (which will shortly be released as part of the Ultraplay Podcast series), that Razvy's flawless vinyl mixing skills, are equally matched by his knowledgable and natural-flow of track selection. Taking listeners on a musical journey through all kinds of underground house and groove-fueld electronica, it's almost impossible to stop one of his mixes once it's got going. You're locked in for good! Razvy will be making his debut appearance at Ultraplay this month, warming up the room for the E1 Sunday scensters. Be sure to check his forthcoming mix on the Ultraplay Podcast next week...
So that just leaves Ultraplay residents Darren & Lyn Saine who'll be opening and closing what will surely be an awesome Ultraplay for 2014!
As always, entry to Ultraplay at Cafe 1001 is 100% FREE, so it's highly advisable to arrive as early as possible, with ID, to guarantee entry and avoid the queues!
