It brings me great pleasure to announce our next and final party for the foreseeable future, featuring the much celebrated pioneer of the Jungle/Footwork vibe Om Unit.
His earliest explorations into 160/80 bpm territory came in the form of his moniker Phillip D Kick, with a host of experimental bootlegs and edits of classic jungle and DNB reworked in the style of Chicago Footwork and Juke, Om Unit unwittingly created a genre that would soon see the likes of Fracture, Machinedrum, DJ Rashad and Mark Pritchard embrace and birth artists like Dawn Day Night, Sam Binga and a host of others.
The early releases served as the inspiration for our exploration into the genres of both Footwork and Jungle and the reason we started this party in the first place, as a place to play this kind of music because a platform at the time didn't exist, with artists of this nature being added to line-ups that did them no justice.
Flash forward and 2013 was a huge year for Om Unit with his highly acclaimed debut album release on Civil Records and countless EP's on the likes of Metal Headz, Exit records and his own Cosmic Bridge. He's moved from strength to strength, incorporating more of the Jungle and DNB sound into his sets as the possibilities for the genre continue to expand.
We're thrilled to have him on board and Can't wait to party with you guys one last time!
