On the 8th March Canal Mills and Metropolis present no less than Waze& Odyssey, B- Traits, Ejeca, Friend Within, Hannah Wants, Mak&Pasteman, GotSome, Mike Jones &Arkive!
First up in room 1, you’ll find one of our favourite duos. In such a short space of time Waze& Odyssey have really made their mark on the scene. Releasing a mixture of funk and disco cuts on various labels: Get Physical, Tsuba, Wolf, Let’s Play House and their own label W&O Street Tracks. Gaining support from the likes of Kerri Chandler and Maya Jane Coles, they’re the ultimate party duo!
Stepping up next we have Ejeca! Experimenting with disco, garage, house and everything in between, he’s gained huge support from BBC Radio 1 as one to watch. Ranging from producing vocal house to pumping basslines he continues to turn many a head!
Annie Mac labelled him ‘One name to watch’ but this mysterious producer already has a huge industry following from T. Williams to B-Traits and Mistajam to Monki. With numerous fingers in musical pies, there’s nothing Friend Within can’t do!
Bristol duo GotSome combine their past influences with hip hop, drum & bass, break beat and house. One of our favourite tracks ‘Basslines’ will inevitably get you in the mood for their Canal Mills debut.
Our mates Metropolis take over Room 2 firstly welcoming Digital Sound girl, B –Traits! Needing no real introduction, she’s become a huge name in the bass scene. Topping the UK charts and hosting her own Radio 1 show, she’ll be sure to bring us the freshest beats.
Another Canal Mills debut, we welcome the wonderful Hannah Wants! In 2012 alone she played alongside huge names such as: Disclosure, Justin Martin, Huxley, SBTRKT and Redlight and we’re very much looking forward to this set.
Good friends Mak and Pasteman met back in Leeds back in 2011 when they began producing music. They’ve released on Redlight's Lobster Boy label and most recently Breach’s Naked Naked label continuing to combine their jungle, house and techno influences.
Finally we introduce residents Mike Jones and Arkive, who will be sure to keep you moving all night.
