Time flies…Brax Moody and Vamparela have been djing under the moniker Local Suicide and leading the trendsetting blog localsuicide.com for 4 years now! The blog started off as a little project and ended up being one of berlin’s the most popular music and lifestyle blogs with over 50 writers from all over the world.
To celebrate the 4 year anniversary they invited their buddies Franz Underwear, label manager of one the hottest disco labels, Slow Motion, and super talented dj and producer Rodion, who has been releasing music on some of the most respected labels, such as Gomma, Nang, Eskimo etc and playing in some of the best venues all over the world since 2007. The event is taking place at one of the city’s coolest new locations, Cosmic Kaspar, the basement of Mein Haus Am See, with a rotating dance floor, disco balls and a spacey feel, in the heart of Berlin right at Rosenthaler Platz. All you have to do is put on your dancing shoes and Go Bang!

Rodion is from Rome. Mixmag/UK called him the “new genius of Italian Dance music”. Rodion makes extremely emotional freaked out electronic music that’s ahead of its time. Somewhere between the depths of cosmic music and synthesized funk, mixed with the dramatic melodies of Italian horror movies. Heavily influenced by soundtrack composers such as Morricone and Goblin, by the Japanese science fiction animation soundtracks of the 70’s and by classical music and balearic club culture, Rodion is fully tuned into the extraterrestrial beat.
In 2007 the boy from Rome released his debut album 'Romantic Jet Dance' on Gomma which became a favourite of DJs such as Prins Thomas and the DFA crew. During the last four years Rodion' singles and remixes on Gomma, Eskimo, City Slang, Bearfunk and MBdisco (where he remixed his majesty GIORGIO MORODER), brought Rodion's sound into the playlists of Franz Ferdinand, Erol Alkan, Francois K, Andrew Weatherall, Aeroplane, James Holden, Cosmo Vitelli and many others.
After collaborating on his 'For Ever EP' on Gomma (2010) with superstar crooners Louie Austen and Jeppe Kjellberg from Whomadewho in 2011 Rodion released spacey 12" singles on Nang, Eskimo and Bang Gang DJs together with fellow club mates Bottin, Francisco and Golden Bug. In 2012 it has been the turn of two exciting EPs on La Belle from Paris and Slowmotion from Berlin, made in collaboration with maestro Fabrizio Mammarella of Clap Rules (Tiny Sticks, Bearfunk, DFA) and the sexiest doner man on earth, Khan of Finland.
Rodion is also one half of the sweaty duo ALIEN ALIEN, together with Hugo Sanchez: in 2011 they released their debut 'Black Guru' EP on Slowmotion records. Their SAMBACA number quickly reached the kinkiest ballrooms all around the world, became a queer hymn and got featured in many compilations, including "Body Language vol.12" on Get Physical records.
Rodion played live and DJed in many of the best clubs around the world, from Moscow to Paris, from Berlin to Istanbul, from Mexico City to New York, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur.
So expect him to sooner or later visit a ballroom close to your hometown...

_FRANZ UNDERWEAR
(Slow Motion / Sweatlodgeagency / Café Futuro)
Born in Pescara, central Italy, and currently based in Berlin, Franz Underwear started his musical career in his teens. During this time he travelled around Italy playing gigs with his noise-rock band and also began collecting records of a wide variety of genres and styles in electronic music.
His career as a DJ and promoter, however, began in 2005 with the birth of Slow Motion, a collective of Italian artists responsible for events involving electronic music parties and disco dancing, namely East Coast Disco, Teenage from Mars, Wrong Era and Retro Futuro.
In 2007 Franz Underwear left Italy to Berlin and gave continuity to his work by showcasing his DJ skills and promoting parties all over the German capital. He is the resident DJ of Slow Motion parties which currently hold residencies in Berlin, Pescara and Rome and frequently appears in clubs all over Europe. Is DJ sets are a mix of obscure Italian dance, disco house, new wave, space beats, cosmic grooves, electro, acid and some hints of Detroit and Chicago.
Having established a strong presence both in Italy and Berlin, Franz Underwear was ready to take a step forward and in 2009 he founded Slow Motion Records, showcasing the best of new Italian electronic music with releases produced by Italian artists only.

_VAMPARELA & BRAX MOODY

Berlin-based couple Brax Moody (DE-Munich) and Vamparela (GR-Thessaloniki) have been playing music together since 2007, either as a DJ duo, in bands, or as remixers and producers. Merge the rhythm and vibrance of Munich’s hip hop clubs with the grime and attitude of Thessaloniki’s back-alley indie bars, put some berlin party flavor in, to get an idea on how to categorize Local Suicide: unique soulful fusion of nu-disco, deep-house, jacking acid and dark techno.
As DJs they've played all over the EU and USA whilst holding down day jobs in the music industry and running one of the top 10 independent music & lifestyle blogs in germany with 40+ international editors. Rest assured that these two have honed their musical tastes and chops.
Having organized parties, festivals, and moderating radio shows for years, Local Suicide is as adept outside the booth as they are in it.
