  • Awesome Tapes From Africa: Blogger turned DJ and label owner Brian Shimkovitz sheds light on the obscure and wonderful sounds from across the African continent. The Awesome Tapes From Africa DJ set blends folkloric pop, left-field dance floor gems and hip-hop bangers, celebrating the music and musicians whose cassettes Shimkovitz has collected over the years. After 75 shows on three continents in the past couple of years, the project shows no sign of slowing down. Adelaide Festival’s late night music line-up at Lola’s Pergola, an outdoor club located on the Torrens riverbank. Lola’s Pergola is the latest in the long tradition of unique Adelaide Festival designed clubs. Festival goers keen for a casual pre/post show meal can get their fill from Lola's main kitchen - Tasty Hots - which will be preparing, garnishing and serving a range of incredible restaurant quality cheap eats. DJ Sets will begin from 9pm and finish late. Torrens Riverbank, in front of Adelaide Convention Centre. Bus Stop D North Terrace – North Side, then short walk to Torrens Riverbank. Bus Stop W2 North Terrace – South Side, then short walk to Torrens Riverbank. Train terminating at Adelaide Railway Station. Exit on to Festival Drive, then short walk to Torrens Riverbank.
