Bassment is a techno minimal oriented event hosted at The Shelter, established in early 2011. Originally aiming to bring dark, progressive techno rhythms of Shanghai producers and DJ’s. However, over many months it has morphed into a showcase of experimental, live and new techno minimal as well as keeping its original goal of creating an atmosphere of bass and progression.

Steven Lorenz is part of Intransikbeats. Producing and performing Techno and Dubstep.
He is on the front lines, djing and displaying his and the work of Intransikbeats on a monthly basis. He hosts a monthly event at The Shelter called Bassment and has a residency at Sub-Culture. Where he gets the opportunity to play with international artists that inspire him in his production and performances.
His production, which varied over the years, has found an aggressive, low freq. tone in both his Techno and Dubstep.
He releases on Freitag Limited, Dark and Sonorous Records, Techmatiq Records, Gamma Audio and more.
Collaborating with other artists within and outside of Intransikbeats is a big part of his work. He finished a Dubstep album with his brother, Vince Lorenz and works with Digital Monk, Minimal Entropy, Fakir, Esia, Tuseth, Monktec, Bruno Ledesma and others, continuously creating some sound.
He continues supporting the alternative, experimental genres and working toward spreading the culture and creativity

Void Shanghai is undoubtedly one of China’s most influential electronic music organizations, and also one of it’s most low-profile - the Void crew prefer to be heard rather than seen. Recently celebrating their sixth anniversary, Void has built up a cult following and is a well-respected crew seen as dedicated to quality not quantity, known for zealously pushing authentic underground electronic music culture Established in 2007 by Shanghai Ultra & Nat Alexander, two UK ex-pats, the crew has expanded over the years to incorporate local talents such as MHP and in recent years, Russian, German and French DJs in the shape of Ginzburg, Chris Jobs and Wensen. Notoriously committed to their “underground” philosophy, Void is strongly influenced by Chicago House and Detroit Techno grooves. Besides these two roots styles of house and techno, Void’s sound slides with ease all over the musical globe, from disco to bass music to funk and rare grooves. Void has brought many of the most influential artists in electronic music to China for the first time, including Rob Hood, Juan Atkins, Surgeon and Neil Landstrumm. Void are also known for their occasional one-off warehouse parties.
