Their aim is to create works of texture, lyricism and intensity. Listen: www.denovali.com/petrels Since 2007 Denovali Records curates and organizes an international music festival called Denovali Swingfest. The first editions took place in Essen, Germany - since 2013 Denovali presents similar events in London and Berlin. The name Swingfest is an homage to the Swing Kids being active during the Nazi dictatorship. Focussed on various forms of experimental and adventurous music the lineup offers a wonderful opportunity to discover a wide range of international Denovali artists live and is rounded off by various renowned non-label guest artists. A hallmark of the festival is the renunciation of the headliner principle: all artists are receiving the same attention - the length of each artist's concert is equal. In addition to the musical program the festival features yearly changing specials like an experimental film cinema, installations or lectures. Not limited to one musical genre, the festival offers a diverse range of music styles from darker experimental sounds, ambient, electronica to indie, jazz or piano and string driven modern compositions. As always the sets of the 11 performings artists will be as long as a real club show (around an hour). In the past years artists like Sunn O))), William Basinski, Murcof, Andy Stott, Fennesz, Tim Hecker, Hauschka, Biosphere, Emika, Barn Owl, Nils Frahm, Floex, Ulrich Schnauss, Hidden Orchestra, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, Bohren und der Club Of Gore, Bersarin Quartett or Nadja performed at the festival. - 28£ for a Friday ticket - 18£ for a Saturday ticket (limited to 200) - 46£ for a festival ticket
