  • FRIDAY 07.03.2014 @ Motel Campo (23h-5h) JUAN ATKINS (Metroplex, DETROIT) ----------------------------------------------------------------- SATURDAY 08.03.2014 @ Silencio (00h-5h) BOO WILLIAMS (Strictly Jaz Unit, CHICAGO) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Support by EMILIE NANA (Compost Black Label) ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Juan Atkins, the originator of “Techno Music” was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Techno Music then swept the planet and put Juan, Derrick, Kevin, & Eddie in demand for live performances and DJ gigs all over the world. Most of their music was ultimately released on major record companies (i.e. Virgin records & Jive records) and have sold millions of copies worldwide to date. Itʼs now 2012 and Juan Atkins still records under the moniker “Model 500”. Juan has released three albums “Classics”, “Deep Space”, and “Mind & Body” on Belgian techno label R&S records, and recently 2 singles, “OFI” & “Control” and is currently working on a new LP. With the relaunch of Metroplex records, Model 500 live, and a feature length film in the works. Juan Atkins is keeping very busy, and staying on the cutting edge. Juan is still continuing to bring new innovations in electronic techno music, and alternative musical reality to the world. Born July 20, 1967 in Chicago, Boo Williams has been a part of the city's house music entourage since 1981. This was when he first stepped up to the turntables and started DJing. Later on in the 1990's, Boo began production and then later remixing in '93. He started out parting on the city's south side soon introduced to Glenn Underground who got him started in music production. Emilie musical background reaches from her mothers mix tapes of Larry Levans genre defining sets at the Paradise Garage, her fathers 7" and 12 " inch collection of Funk & Raggae, to hip-hop and drug fused mix sessions by Ricardo Villalobos playing eternally at Zürichs Dachkantine. Only few can claim to navigate as effortless between American, African and European music as she does.
