In honoring the sound and feeling of "Early," all of the acts will be selecting music that's a little slower, a little sexier and a lot deeper than the normative dance floor experience. Expect Mr. Last to perform many of the tracks off the album as well as unreleased material he's excited to share with you and Mesa @ Molly's.
Mesa Recordings is extremely proud to present Early by David Last. This music is for the habitually nocturnal; whether they've been up all night partying, painting, or programming. David is a highly respected producer and performer who recently relocated from the depths of Gotham to the wide-open spaces of the southwest. With this eagerly awaited full-length album, David delivers 11 tracks masterfully created to evoke and accompany the transition from deep and mysterious nights of music and dance into boldly celebratory mornings. Echoes of dub techno and slow burning deep house intertwine with ghostly vocals and delicate electro-acoustic sound design to create a lush musical environment that is at once comfortingly familiar and daringly inventive.
Early features a number of guest musicians including east coast friends Morgan Packard, Radere and Praveen Sharma (Braille/Sepalcure), Paris and Tokyo vocalists Asako Fujimoto, Meiko Hori and Rana, keyboard work from Geoffrey Keezer of Jazz Messengers fame, and Colorado contributors Ten and Tracer, Lauren Higgins and Jeremy Averitt.
David Last has an extensive discography spanning labels as diverse as Staubgold (Berlin), BPitch Control (Berlin), Wolf + Lamb (NYC), Konque (NYC), François K's WaveTec (NYC), indie psych-rock label The Social Registry (NYC) and Audio.NL (Rotterdam).
