Panorama Bar, Fabric, Plan B, and now the Bowler Bar, this Amsterdam duo lives between Detroit and their European birthplace, Holland.
Detroit Swindle, aka Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets, release their debut album – Boxed Out – this March. Expect to hear tracks from the album including 64 Ways featuring Mayer Hawthorne, and Huh, What! – from the current EP, recently released January 27 – amongst others killer dancefloor anthems. The album will feature 13 cuts, released on Dirt Crew Records, (partly) their label home since 2012.
Resident Advisor said: “The album draws on Detroit Swindle’s love of disco, golden era hip-hop and classic, upfront US house.”
Also owners of their very own imprint Heist Records, the duo have had quite a run – they appeared out of thin air and create music that impresses our ears. Notorious for their energetic DJ sets, they’re rightly praised for their productions with “that” signature shuffle and those carefully designed drops.
Having fun, raising the roof and causing mischief is only part of what you can expect from these two Euro-Detroiters.
