Booty Call presents Ms Dynamite, DJ EZ & More

  • After selling out last years Street Party, Booty Call return with another amazing Street Party calling on the cream of UKG & Old Skool artists with 16 Headlining acts. Kent's Biggest Garage & Classic's Street Party RETURNS with their biggest line up to date! MS DYNAMITE Ms. Dynamite (aka Niomi McLean-Daley) grew up in North London, listening to reggae and turning to hip-hop at the age of 12. Even when she wanted to become either a primary school teacher or a social worker, her passion for music was stronger. After starting out in a pirate radio station called RAW FM, Ms. Dynamite met Richard Forbes (aka Sticky) in a West End club. The two began working on her debut single, “Boo!,” licensed from DJ Jason Kaye’s Social Circles label to London Records. Punch, Salaam Remi, Tony Kelly, and Dave Kelly produced her first full-length record in Miami, New York, and Jamaica. A Little Deeper featured the hit singles “Dy-Na-Mi-Tee” and “It Takes More.” In September 2002, Ms. Dynamite became the first black female artist achieving a Mercury Music Prize, beating favorites the Streets, the Coral, and even music legend David Bowie. Three years later, she released her second album, Judgement Days. DJ EZ EZ's first time on commercial radio was as a guest on high profile Kiss 100 DJ Steve Jackson's breakfast show (Morning Glory) and house DJs Bobby & Steve's show. The guest appearances became more and more frequent and EZ was offered the chance to stand in for Tuff Jam on a few occasions when they were not able to attend to perform their 2-hour show. In November 1999, Kiss 100 offered EZ a permanent show on Tuesday mornings from 2.00am to 4.00am. Due to its success, the show was moved to a Friday night (Saturday morning) slot from midnight to 2.00am, directly after Bobby & Steve's show. In 2000, after coming ninth place in a Kiss 100 Top DJ of the Year poll, DJ EZ was given a primetime show on Saturday nights from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, called 'Saturday Satisfaction', and another show on Friday nights from 10.00pm to 11.00pm, called 'The Hour of Power'. In 2002, his Saturday show changed to the earlier time of 5.00pm to 7.00pm. In 2004, he won awards for Best DJ, Best Old Skool DJ and Best Radio Show at the People's Choice Music Awards in London.[1] DJ EZ currently hosts a popular UK garage radio show called 'Destination Weekend' on London's Kiss 100 every Friday night from 10pm. He does a 2-hour show packed with old skool classics and the latest tunes from the UK garage world and featuring occasional special guests. With him always is his sidekick Winston. As of 4 September 2009, the 'Destination Weekend' show was expanded to air across the entire Kiss network. This includes South Wales and South West England, covered by Kiss 101 and the East of England, covered by Kiss 105. From 8 March 2008 until 1 November 2008, DJ EZ hosted a second Kiss radio show titled 'The Bassline Mix'. This was broadcast on Saturday nights from 10.00pm to 11.00pm across the Kiss Network (Kiss 100, Kiss 101 and Kiss 105-108). The show featured UK garage and bassline anthems mixed non-stop by EZ. MAJESTIC Majestic (real name Kevin Christie) started out as an MC performing on the North London nightclub circuit at just fifteen years of age. He rapidly broke through onto the Garage pirate radio stations and forums gaining instant recognition, and was subsequently snapped up by international promoters to perform tours of Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany and Russia. Majestic has since crossed into a multitude of dance music genres from UK Garage to House to Drum & Bass and Dubstep performing with leading artists across the scene such as EZ, Dream Teem, Agent X, MJ Cole, Judge Jules, Micky Slim, Jack Beats , Laidback Luke, The Wideboys, Netsky, High Contrast, Loadstar, Shy FX Skream, Bar9, Nero and Jacob Plant to name a few. As well as a legendary MC known for being risqué in spreading his word, Majestic is also making waves as an artist in his own right. His single “In The VIP” written and produced with the Wideboys that took a satirical look at the VIP Club culture, was released on Skint Records. After receiving serious hits on YouTube and Radio Support from Mistajam, Target, Kissy Sell Out and Steve Smart on heavy rotation, the record also made its way onto the MOS Bass Culture annual. Majestic’s lyrical flow then caught the eye of American Dubstep superstar Skrillex who sampled Majestics legendary, almost anthemic, “Ruffneck Bass” spit for his latest massive single of the same title, played by the worlds biggest DJs.
