Last week Dimensions Festival announced the jaw-dropping first wave of acts they'll be bringing to Croatia's Fort Punta Christo in August, featuring the likes of Caribou, Roy Ayers, Moodymann, UR and Theo Parrish. We're pleased to announce that Donuts will be hosting the Bristol launch party on March 8th with a live set from an artist we've been excited about for quite a while now.
Having made music for years but largely avoiding attention, Seven Davis Jr. broke through in 2013 with releases on Jay Simon's Must Have Records and Kutmah's fledgling IZWID imprint. The L.A. based artist's woozy, multi-layered vocals and lo-fi yet sexy production made many an end of year list and his forthcoming lead track on Apron Records has all the hallmarks of a summer jam in the making. We're over the moon to say he'll be performing a 60 minute live set for us on this, his very first European tour.
Also on the bill we have Kutmah, whose 2012 Worldwide Family Vol. 2 compilation first shone a light on SDJR. Formerly an integral part of the LA beat scene, since his forced relocation to his native UK he's held down an essential show on NTS whilst launching IZWID and cementing his reputation as one of the best, most inventive DJs around.
Don't Be Afraid boss Semtek and Tom D round off the lineup on what promises to be a memorable night.
