Following our multiple trips to Berlin over the last 10 years, we at Unleash feel its high time that we brought the true spirit of that city, and its amazing nightlife, to London
So we decided to talk to our favourite clubs & labels including Berghain/PanoramaBar // Perlon // BAR25 // Katermukke // Chalet // Club der Visionaere // Tresor // SLEEP IS COMMERCIAL and see what they thought about the idea
The result is right here, a night with 8 of the leading Berlin DJ’s in a 4 room venue that will blow your mind
First up, we have ★SAMMY DEE★, an official resident of Berghain/Panorama Bar. Sammy Dee has been instrumental in establishing the club’s infamous Friday nights that go by the name “Get Perlonized” alongside his Perlon label buddies Zip and Ricardo Villalobos. A household name on the Berlin scene, he has played at practically every club you can think of in the German capital as well as abroad
Joining Sammy in Room 1 will be Japanese-born, Berlin-based ★FUMIYA TANAKA★. Also part of the Perlon family, Fumiya frequently plays at Berghain/Panorama Bar and has released on one of Berlin’s oldest club’s labels – Tresor.
In room 2 we have a Bar 25 takeover, in the face of the club and label founder and owner – ★DANNY FABER★. Those of you that have ever been to Bar 25 will of course recognize this legendary man, largely responsible for creating one of the most incredible venues the world has ever seen. And if you ever listened to him play, you will know why his music has inspired generations of young up and coming Berlin DJ’s
★JAKE THE RAPPER★ joins Danny in Room 2. Originally hailing from the Bronx, NYC, Jake moved to Germany in 1990 to launch his short-lived rap career. The career ended the moment Jake stepped into Bar 25, after, according to him, “he never left”. Jake was the resident at both Bar 25 and Katerholzig, and since both clubs closed now plays regularly in Watergate, Arena, Ritterbutzke, Wilde Renate, Sisyphos, and Chalet.
Room 3 is being taken over by our good friends from Sleep is Commercial – the Berlin label founder ★FRANCESCO ASSENZA★ headlines, famous for his dark yet melodic take on house and techno. Francesco is whats often called a DJ’s DJ, and is known for his marathon sets at the likes of Katerholzig and Club Der Visionaire.
Last but not least, in room 4 we have our residents ★DAYLOMAR★, who are joined by a very special lady that we first listened to on one sunny Saturday afternoon at Katerholzig – ★GIORGIA ANGIULI★. Using a variety of musical instruments and singing live to accompany her thumping house set, Giorgia is guaranteed to blow you away.
