In it’s short existence, Dimensions Festival has firmly established itself as the festival run by heads for heads. With exceptional programming and its location in an abandoned fort on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast – it’s one you should definitely add to the bucket list.
Tonight we’ve the Sheffield launch of said festival, with a chance to win a pair of tickets no less, and two super-talented guest artist to headline our little soiree in the dark & vibey little box we call Studio & Fusion.
Cooly G, signed to Kode 9’s Hyperdub label is known for a ‘deep house tribal dubstep vibe’ which led to Fact Mag, voting her Best British Female for 2012 & voting her debut album "Playin' Me" #3 album of 2012. Most recently, she’s just dropped a new EP with label mate Scratcha DVA which precedes a new album later this year she’s describing as “very sexy, trap-ish, R&B-ish, rock-ish...there’s a lot of heavy metal guitars in it. Proper punchy shit going on. Proper melodies, melodies that’ll get stuck in your head.” Sounds pretty interesting!
Kutmah is part of the Brainfeeder crew that includes Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus, Lapalux, Daedelus etc.To once again quote Fact Magazine (let's face it they know their stuff): "When talking about Kutmah, it’s tempting to use an epithet such as “the best DJ you’ve never heard”, or “best kept secret”. But we like to think enough people know about him now to make that unnecessary."
Having swapped LA for London he's curated Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label compilation and is generally one of those guys many DJs would cite as one of their favourite DJs.
