Quando il vinile incontra il digitale, passando attraverso il legno e il ferro della batteria, tutto suona diverso: nuovo, ma soprattutto rigorosamente live. He doesn´t play disco like Larry Levan, he doesn´t make house like Todd Terry, and he doesn´t do electro-dance like Daft Punk. Yet he loves them all equally. And unconditionally. Scuola Furano is a digital soul whose shiny disco heart beats for house music. Scuola Furano began as Borut Viola and Marco Busolini, two young DJs and producers from Gorizia, a city in the Northeast of Italy. They released their self- titled debut album in October 2004 on indie label Riotmaker with a sound that attempted to capture NYC in the Early 80s by mixing disco, old-school rap, electro, and post-punk. The album saw them become the new Italian dance sensation in 2005 by receiving tons of critical praise from the press; they also became MTV favorites and played some of the most important global dance festivals alongside the likes of Tiga, Justice, Chemical Brothers, 2 Many Djs, and Cassius. More importantly, they started a movement in Italy of young producers and DJs who became famous around the world like Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots and Congorock. In 2006, Marco left the group to pursue his education and Borut continued alone by releasing the Max Power EP on Mantra Vibes, and the Tribute EP in 2010 through our friends at LaValigetta Records. All the while, Borut steadily produced tons of edits, remixes and singles released officially or shared for free on the web and has continued playing the decks all around Italy and Europe. Which brings us to 2012´s 108, his first release with the respected Nano Records family, a spectacular and ambitious comeback album filled with pop hooks and dance floor bangers that draw inspiration from the Golden Age of house music, while always looking to bring house into the future.
