>› TOMAS JIRKU - [ Innerflight Music, Thoughtless Music, Traum ]
Tomas started his career deep within the 'golden era' of minimal and glitch techno and helped to define the genres.
His live performance at the inaugural Mutek festival in 2000 caught the ear of Force Inc who signed him shortly after, just eking-out Akufen to become the first Canadian on the label. In the era where EPs and double-LPs still ruled, and digital downloads were just a twinkle in some corporation's eye, Tomas dropped albums on Traum, Klang, Revolver, Audio.NL, and more.
Since then, over a decade of producing has seen Jirku manipulate house on Arbutus Records; hiphop with his laser-gun-rap project The Killaz; dub on his highly regarded "Entropy" album; electro, ambient, and other experiments that defy genres. With experience performing around the globe and having made his mark on innumerable record labels, Tomas has been honing back in on techno, aiming to maximize the brain and body connection that deep techno can provide.

>› THE AUTOMATIC MESSAGE - [ From0-1, Subspec ]
Vancouver-based Trevor Jacobson and Tanya Goehring are The Automatic Message. Partners in work and in life, they have built a strong portfolio of abstract, dark and tension-building audiovisuals together. Since forming The Automatic Message in 2006, Trevor and Tanya have been producing avant-guard, off-kilter techno and supporting it with their own visual interpretations, which, in line with their music, creates a tremendous sense of unease and tension.
Their music ranges from gritty, glitchy experimental to hard, dark techno with slices of jazz-influenced percussion. They have worked closely with various labels, most notably From 0-1 (Seattle), Kalimari (Montreal), Monsieur Musique (Montreal), and UNOIKI (Berlin).
The Automatic Message’s intriguing videography and dark style of editing has caught the eye of some of the biggest names in the techno world. CLR label boss Chris Liebing brought them onboard to create, produce and direct three videos for the label’s release schedule with Black Asteroid’s “Engine 1”, Tommy Four Seven’s “G” and Drumcell's "Disturbance". The videos they created for Tommy Four Seven and Drumcell were selected for screening at the Antimatter Festival in Victoria, BC in 2011 and 2013, respectively. The music videos they create – whether for their own music or for other artists – explore themes of isolation and impending emotional and global collapse amidst surreal, dream-like psychological landscapes. They investigate these themes through peculiar and disconcerting character portraits.
Blending these two art forms, The Automatic Message melds their auditory and visual works to create unique live performances. They juxtapose the different characters that appear in their videos to tell new narratives. Their live performances are often described as cinematic, emotional, dark and thought provoking. The Automatic Message debuted live at the 2008 New Forms Festival in Vancouver, BC, and has since performed across North America at various events and festivals in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Montreal. They made their European debut at Berghain's Klubnacht in July 2013.
The Automatic Message is committed to curating events that further their community’s interests in audiovisual performances and video art. They were honoured to receive a Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Small Grants Project grant in both 2011 and 2012 to curate an event showcasing local audiovisual acts and a short film festival called IN MEDIAS RES.

>› MANOS - [ Innerflight Music ]
Beauty comes in at the ears.
When the lid is taken off the Seattle music scene, a vibrant, modern electronic music movement is quickly revealed. Rising from this bustle is Manos, an eclectic, floor-pleasing DJ with a veteran’s CV in the northwestern US and a discerning ear for talent as utilized in his A&R duties at acclaimed electronic label Innerflight Music.
Growing up in a small town outside of Minneapolis, Manos was attracted to the late ’80s / early ‘90s industrial music boom, and his love for the electronic sounds and experimentation of industrial led him to techno and house music, helped along by the first warehouse raves cropping up at the time. A move to Seattle in the mid-’90s led Manos to a different rave scene and a subtle but noticeable difference in sound and vibe that he found more compelling.
Known for dosing Seattle dance floors with everything from acid-laden techno and house to reverie-inducing experimental and starry-eyed electronica, his musical adventures traverse divergent sonic terrains but nearly always venture into psychedelic territory. It’s this distinctive musical ethos that has led Manos to his position as chief A&R manager at Innerflight Music. His ear for diversity influenced Innerflight with releases that, while leaning towards the techno side of things, always included elements that push the fan base outside of usual ‘techno’ circles. “I look for artists that are always evolving and challenging themselves as musicians, exploring different styles even if it still falls into a broader genre,” says Manos. It’s this attitude that has attracted renowned artists like Noah Pred, Rennie Foster, Pezzner, Evan Marc (AKA Bluetech), Tomas Jirku, Luke Mandala, Phil Western, and Hanssen to work with the label, growing Innerflight’s profile to an international prominence.
