Revolver Upstairs has been involved with Thick As Thieves since its inception in 2009. With a short but impressive history bringing international acts to Australian shores, the agency is now popping up as a presenter of several notable shows in their own right, not least of all Revolver's infamous Sunday Summer Series.
In 2014 we've joined forces in a new capacity for a series of (roughly) monthly Friday night shows featuring only the best underground acts drawn largely from their own increasingly formidable roster. The nights will be curated over two rooms featuring some of Melbourne's finest local talent from the Thick As Thieves and Revolver Fridays stables.
Our 3rd act are Berlin based duo Mat.Joe. Their background in hip hop and house has heavily shaped their own signature style of crispy house beats paired with rhythmic soul and hip hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor qualified, warm and rough. Check out smash hits "Got Game" and "Hypnotic" on Off Recordings for a taste.
They're joined on stage by Silversix, Brad Daniels, Boot Action and Doakes while the Revolver Fridays cage lineup features Mike Callander, Lewie Day, Katie Drover, Safari and Who plus Sunshine after 7am on Saturday morning.
