After the sell-out success of our May Bank Holiday party, secretsundaze returns to Oval Space in July, this time joining forces with Oval Space Music, the venue’s in-house programme to present another Sunday daytime musical feast. L.B. Dub Corp, Kyle Hall and Paranoid London - live join secretsundaze's trusty residents James Priestley & Giles Smith.
Headlining the day is L.B. Dub Corp one of Luke Slater's many pseudonyms and the name he has focussed on most recently. Slater is without doubt techno deity and considered one of the most prominent and consistent techno producers whether it be under his Planetary Assault Systems guise, The 7th Plain, L.B. Dub Corp or just simply Luke Slater. His LP 'Unknown Origin' as L.B. Dub Corp released on Ostgut Ton late last year was an absolute pearler embracing a groovy, african influenced, hypnotizing aesthetic so we just had to invite him to do a DJ set based around this sound.
Our second guest Kyle Hall is no stranger to secretsundaze playing a number of times across the years. He is is arguably the original Detroit wunderkid producing and DJing internationally from a very young age and releasing on the likes of Omar S's FXHE, Hyperdub and of course his own Wild Oats. He has also been producing and performing as Funkinevil with the UK's Funkineven. His DJ sets are a romp through techno, disco, funk, house and all sorts of other left of centre dance music.
Paranoid London our final guest for this date are a triumvirate comprised of 2 live performers and 1 vocalist. They first appeared in 2007 but it wasn't until 2012's 'Paris Dub 1' that they came out with all guns blazing. Played by every discerning DJ across the board the track was a bona fide underground anthem. Their live set incorporates vintage synthesisers, drum machines and of course live vocals. They are very selective about gigs only playing live at Fabric this year so far so we are honoured to have their second show of 2014.
With secretsundaze residents James Priestley & Giles Smith opening and closing the party as only they know how, the scene is set for another killer party at Oval Space. Of course the 2 fantastic terraces will be in full use at the venue and the highly regarded pop-up foodies Rita’s will have their bbq smoking all day. We look forward to sharing another sunday day time into night time with you.
