  • *************************************************************************************************** Please note this is a 200 capacity limited event. Please send your names to [email protected] by 6pm on Saturday 19th April. We hold the right refuse entry on the door...Music speaks. *************************************************************************************************** Embedded within the genetic make-up of London's ever-changing underground music scene, NoVus originally emerged in 2012 as an intimate gathering of like minded music aficionados, intent on cultivating something distinctive and exceptional. Two years on, and following the inauguration of their very own label earlier this year, NoVus can now make claim to being much more than just a party...The label, managed by founder residents Scott Kemp and Cris J, enjoyed a debut VA in January which featured influential original tracks from some of the industry's most exciting prospects, in Randall M (tINI & the Gang), Lilith, P.Jones, Chad Andrew (tINI & the Gang) and Duky. Hitting #1 in the Minimal Top Releases chart during its first week on Beatport, NoVus VA Vol. 2. has just been deployed, and is enjoying an equally impressive response, this time featuring standout tracks from Bolumar, Daylomar, Faulhaber and Patrice Meiner. Advocating a policy for only releasing original material, NoVus endeavours to provide a refreshing platform from which it can showcase some of the most gifted up-and-coming producers from across the globe. With the label having already signed music from New York to Michigan, Berlin to Valencia and London to the UAE, all of which contribute to the fundamental values and ethos of NoVus, whereby quality of music counts for everything, it is fair to say their vision is a global one. So after a busy few months behind the scenes, most notably due to the launch of their new label and co-founder Scott Kemp's ever increasing playing schedule across the UK and Europe, on Saturday 19th April the NoVus family return to deliver their first showcase event of the year. In true NoVus fashion, the curators have selected an intimate basement on East London's Kingsland Road, and recent venue for the infamous 'Boiler Room' sessions, to play host to Part 1 of a double headed NoVus showcase event. Proceedings will then move south of the river for Part 2, as NoVus takeover 'Dawn' at Lightbox, the capital's hottest after party of recent times, delivering over 14 hours of intelligent house and techno all in all, from some of the label's most esteemed residents. In association with Guerilla Agency *************************************MEET THE FAMILY**************************************** Lilith (NoVuS / Monique Musique / Draft / EDEC / Art of Dark) LISTEN: www.soundcloud.com/lilithofficial Regarded as one of Holland's hidden gems, Lilith has been plying her trade in the industry for 10 successful years. With a versatile playing style, from vinyl to live show, this Dutch musician seems to have all the attributes of an artist destined to succeed at the very highest level. From playing at the best festivals her homeland NL has to offer (Mystery Land, Dance Valley, Welcome to The Future, Rockit Open Air) as well as gracing some of the World’s most respected club mainstays, such as Watergate, Chalet Berlin, Stereo Montreal, Melkweg, Black Box Italy, Catwalk, We Are FSTVL and Ushuaia Ibiza, and more, Lilith has also proudly held down a 2 year residency at Amsterdam's legendary bastion of all things underground, Studio 80 between 2010 - 2012. Boasting numerous successful releases on the likes of Monique Musique, Pins and Needles, and EDEC, 2014 welcomed Lilith's eagerly anticipated collaboration with P.Jones on NoVus VA Vol.1. 'Little Antennas' enjoyed high-flying success in the Beatport chart, contributing to the overall success of the release, and set the tone for what will undoubtedly be her most productive year in the studio to date. Her most recent release 'Lagrimas Del Sol', a remixed version of a 5 track mini-album collaboration with David Gtronic, has further assured Lilith's propensity for producing sophisticated, emotional and authentic techno of the highest order, with her production levels show no sign of slowing... Upcoming releases on both Draft and Wrong State Recordings beckon, as one of the hottest producers of the moment continues to spread her infectious sound across Europe and beyond. So it is with great pleasure that we welcome Lilith to the helm, and we can't wait to hear what musical delicacies she has in store for us when she assumes her position behind the turntables. P.Jones (NoVus / Kina / Doppelgaenger) LISTEN: https://soundcloud.com/pellepd Pelle aka P. Jones, has already achieved much more than most during his 22 years; establishing the label imprint Karton in 2011, and more recently launching a second label 'Ruis', there really is no end to the Dutchman's ambition, or talent. With an array of top-draw releases already under his belt, on some of the industry's most revered underground labels, including Kina, Earlydub, Draft and Doppelgaenger, his recent collaboration for NoVus VA Vol.1 with fellow guest Lilith, was the first in a string of scheduled releases for 2014, most notably his collaboration with fellow NoVus favourite Roon, due out on Fuse's sub label Infuse. Championing a unique minimalistic sound, enriched with intelligent percussive influences, P. Jones continues to impress with his all-round application to the music. With the growing success of both his labels, and the recent establishment of a record store in his home town of Haarlem, it is fair to say that P. Jones is cultivating something very special indeed, so it is no surprise then that we cannot wait for him to join us for our first showcase of the year. Scott Kemp (Mobilee / NoVus / Turquoise Blue Recordings) LISTEN: www.soundcloud.com/scott-kemp Having enjoyed his most successful year to date, NoVus co-founder Scott Kemp continued his ascent to the forefront of a new generation of tech-house pioneers in 2013, achieving stand-out releases on some of the hottest labels of the moment, whilst also gracing some of Europe’s coolest party destinations, including London, Ibiza, Milan, Paris, Turin and Cologne. Scott opened 2013 with his ‘Neptis’ EP, released last February on Detroit based label ‘Hypertone‘, enjoying impressive remixes from both Randall M (tINI and the Gang) and NoVus favourite Anthea. This was followed-by a stomping three track EP collaboration with Berlin based Miss Jools in August, and ‘London Asylum’ was released on the infamous ‘mobilee records’ with another tasty remix from close friend and ‘mentor’ Anthea. Rounding-off his 2013 release schedule, Scott’s second collaboration with Miss Jools, ‘Bring It Back’, dropped on Manchester based vinyl imprint ‘Lowroom Recordings‘ last November, and featured bomb remixes from Fuse’s Ittetsu and Alexandar Kyosev. 2014 has started equally as strong for the NoVus brainchild, with a 4 track LP released just a few weeks ago on the highly-regarded ‘Turquoise Blue Recordings’, accompanied by a fine array of remixes from DJ W!ld, Hector and Seph. Receiving an 8/10 review from Mixmag, Scott's productions continue to go from strength to strength, and with another solid track due for release on Fuse’s sub-label ‘Infuse’ in the near future, it's safe to say that 2014 will be even more colossal year for this likely London lad. Cris J (NoVus / Draft) One of the main inspirations behind NoVus, co-founder Cris J has played an integral role in masterminded the label's inception. With an acute ear for cutting edge sounds, Cris is also applying himself to producing his own backlog of music, including an upcoming 3 track original EP on NoVus, all of which is scheduled to be released throughout 2014. Managing the A&R for the label, and regarded as a major influence by his partner in crime Scott Kemp, there is no doubting that we will be hearing a lot more from Cris J in the coming months and beyond.
