Dave Clarke’s legendary techno night during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in the Melkweg is celebrating its tenth birthday! To mark this special event, Friday 17 October will be serving up a treat with legends from the beginnings of the techno era, as well as heroes of today, and those of tomorrow. Besides Dave Clarke, the extensive line-up includes Green Velvet, Ben Sims, Gary Beck, Stacey Pullen, Daniel Miller, Clouds, Pfirter, Estroe, Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie and Mr Jones.
This year, Clarke himself will be joined on the night by four further legends! Green Velvet and Stacey Pullen were both early adapters within the American electronic music scene, their influences still resonating throughout present-day techno and house music. Daniel Miller is label boss of Mute Records, one of the defining labels within the British new wave, industrial and techno sound with countless releases of artists such as Depeche Mode, Apparat, Luke Slater and Goldfrapp. Last but not least Ben Sims has been one of the most in-demand and well-respected techno DJs in the world.
One of the main names in today’s techno scene is Gary Beck, playing at events such as Awakenings and large-scale festivals across the globe. Pfirter has been making a name for himself in South-America for more than 10 years, now renowned world-wide as one of the new great techno artists with releases on labels such as Chris Liebing’s CLR.
A fresh new techno sound is provided by Clouds, known from Tiga’s Turbo Recording and currently dictating the more heavy sound of techno, paving the way for the future.
A fine dose of home-grown talent complete the night, with DJ sets by Dave Clarke Presents resident Estroe, Jeff Rushin & Nicole Rosie, along with Clarke’s producing partner Mr Jones.
For many years Dave Clarke has been hosting his renowned club night at The Melkweg and always aims to present cutting-edge alternative dance music with a fine balance between established names and new talent. This fully packed night is charged with a fantastic atmosphere and has deservedly gained somewhat of an iconic status, for Dutch techno lovers and International clubbers this night is an absolute must.
