- The House de Frost proudly present disco pioneer NICKY SIANO - The Gallery / Studio 54 Before The Paradise Garage & Studio 54 there was The Gallery, one of the very first real DISCOS in New York. The Place where Larry Levan & Frankie Knuckles got their start blowing up balloons and learning how to mix while the club was closed. The Gallery inspired a generation of club owners dancers and DJ's, opened by Siano at just 17 years of age & offering an alternative to the non mixing of David Mancuso's Loft parties. Nicky Siano was a pioneering force behind Dj'ing developing many new techniques including layering accapellas, mixing records as well as developing early prototypes of crossover systems and bass horns for club use, moving systems away from the high fidelity style of the loft and forging the way for the legendary Richard Long systems in the Paradise Garage & Studio years later. After the gallery closed Siano went on to play Studio 54 and has been touring around the globe keeping them dancing ever since!
