  • Plaid presents 10th Warp album full of wilful electronica. Plaid “Unique collision of choppy electronics and chirpy melodies has been delighting listeners since 1988.” (Fact Magazine) A quarter century on, Plaid is still an established name in the IDM-landscape. Just call it: wilful electronica of the Autechre and Aphex Twin school. Behind Plaid you will still find the duo Andy Turner and Ed Handley, who wrote electronica history at the end of the ’80s with The Black Dog. They've worked in the meantime with the likes of both Björk and London Sinfonietta, and with their latest issue – ‘Reachy Prints’ that again appears via Warp – they're actually up to their 10th album. They say that the title refers to “The creative process, the capturing of ideas, and the devotion required to recreate them.” Forerunning track ‘Hawkmoth’ certainly has us expecting the best Fis "There are not many artists who sound even remotely like him” (XLR8R) Opener for this double bill will be FIS from New Zealand, who is housed on the ever qualitative Tri-Angle Records, haven to the likes of The Haxan Cloak, Holy Other and Evian Christ. Resident Advisor praised his EP ‘Preparations’: “Fis's debut for Tri Angle Records is to the genre what Burial's ‘Untrue’ was to dubstep: it bears its imprint, but the relationship is tenuous. ‘Preparations’ is closer to Demdike Stare's recent marriage of blistering jungle rhythms and decayed textures, and shares its roughened surfaces and unnerving atmospheres with Fis's Tri Angle labelmate The Haxan Cloak.”
