We return to our new home '60 Million Postcards' for a bank holiday special on Friday May 23rd. After previously welcoming Horse Meat Disco and Tim Goldsworthy this month we welcome two of the most exciting new artists around in Face + Heel and William Arcane who will both be playing live.
Face + Heel, aka Luke Taylor and Sinead McMillan, started working together in Jan 2012 and have been gaining plaudits over the last year for the excellent ‘No Stars EP’ on Warm Records and their self released ‘Chipped Tooth EP’ as well as their most recent series of tracks the Jennifer Jessica Quartet.
They’ve already supported artists such as Blondes, Matthew Dear, Orbital, NZCA/Lines, Portico Quartet, AlunaGeorge and oOoOO in the last 18 months, and have tucked away some superb festival shows under their belts at the Great Escape, Lovebox, Garden Festival, L.E.V, Simple Things, Sounds from the Other City and Liverpool Sound City. Last week also saw their first sell out headline show in London at The Waiting Room.
Having been tipped by the Boiler Room founders as the ones to watch after their acclaimed live set back in April 2013 the band have the sights set on conquering 2014.
Alongside Face + Heel we welcome William Arcane. Honing his craft from his live-in studio above a South London public house, William Arcane weaves striking vocal leads through impeccable electronic production and sound design.
Having experimented for years, Permanence represents a young producer reaching maturity. William Arcane has created something incredible incorporating sounds found in London’s clubs, streets and his own beautifully considered vocals. With support already from the likes of Jamie XX and Bonobo this is definitely one artist to look out for!
