On 7th of June, the elemental, hypnotic and suggestive sounds of acid, the onetime lingua franca of electronic dance music, will take over Tallinn's underground club Ulme (the club's name translates as "sci-fi"). To oversee this transition, a native speaker of the said bridge language will arrive: Anders Ilar, known as a sculptor of timeless and unworldly minimal techno and ambient, who has been making regular appearances in Estonia since 2006. Anders is rooted in the electronic music tradition of the 1990s, when men were made of steel and they all listened to acid.
Those who were lucky enough to be in the barn during Ilar's acid set at one of the previous Kuru Plirr festivals have already experienced firsthand the inexplicable force let loose by the combination Ilar + acid: the dancers are freed from all conventional confines (i.e. starts the spontaneous jumping, shouting and asking for more), Ilar himself changes from a humble nature lover into a dominating regent, issuing more and more demanding and impossible orders to please his disciples. His instruments of choice in delivering his decrees are vinyls from the golden age of acid techno, the 1990s: the room is filled by alien sounds of Roland TB-303 and aggressive drum machine rhythms, BPM remains definitely somewhere above 135.
No tracks will be played by request, Anders will bring a 2-liter bottle filled with his favorite cocktail and it's quite obvious he is not going to leave his spot behind the decks for a long time.
