  • Music is the catalyst that fuels Electro Static Productions. The DJ combines strands of sound, two records, or loops . . . And like a lightning strike or the formation of a new star, the audience is compelled to move and shake, connections forged through the bond of music. Everything begins with chemistry. Base Pathology, our latest experiment begins July 4, as we activate in Detroit. Research subjects are needed. Our laboratory is a dance floor. Parisian techno artist Paul Ritch burst onto the global techno landscape in 2006, a time when minimal had eclipsed the more heavy hitting sounds that preceded it. Even within the minimal construct, through his arraignment and instrumentation, his emotive soundscapes possessed hope, albeit stark at times. His collaboration with Anthony Collins on a bleep-heavy four track EP for Get Physical, as well as previous releases on Respoal Schallware and Paradigma, led to many signings over the years on the upper echelon on techno imprints like Drumcode, Sci+Tech, Soma, Bpitch and Cocoon, among others. He launched his own label, Quartz Rec, in 2008 and has seen it grow like wildfire with signings from Paco Osuna, Carlo Lio and 2000 and One, not to mention the numerous releases from Ritch himself. His sound has evolved with time, drilling down into the powerful and harmonic elements, but has never strayed too far from what some would consider to be pure techno. He has taken his music on tour around the world with bookings at the world's most influential clubs and festivals like Amnesia (Ibz), Fabric (Lon), Womb (Tyk), Time Warp (Ger), ADE (Hol) and SW4 (UK). With a new sub-label, All Jacks, a vinyl only effort focused on jacking beats, and a stream of releases that haven't' stopped since his introduction, Paul Ritch looks to carry techno's torch even further into the future.
