RePublik are delighted to announce the Irish debut of one the best deep house producers/live acts in recent years, LAKE PEOPLE at Crystal Waterford on Saturday August 16th. Countless underground hits such as "Point in Time", the quality remix of Chymera's "Caprica Burning" recently on Guy Gerbers Rumors label, Lake People popularity is increasing after every release. Support on the night comes from Colin Balzli who himself will perform live set of all his own material.
Lake People Biog:
Lake People is the solo project of Martin Enke, whose alias points towards the absoluteness of the relationship between musician and listeners by simply integrating the latter into the name of the project. In his unpretentious manner Lake People has succeeded in creating his own sound universe from which you can only barely escape. Not because of its accessibility, rather because it touches - without obstructing the paths to distanced individual examination of earlier experiences. Rooted in the depths of melancholic electronica and paired with a longstanding techno past, Lake People now produces a variety of house which, despite – or possibly because of – its deepness and organic warmth, elegantly masters the balancing act between dance floor and seclusion. Releases on Permanent Vacation and Connaisseur Rec., among others, and a continuously growing output of remixes, for instance for Lusine and Chymera, speak for themselves. It's hardly surprising that his “Point” EP on Krakatau not only found its way to Dixon's Boiler Room set but also to numerous record bags.
