Mighty Mouse

  • MIGHTY MOUSE [NIGHTFILM] Mighty Mouse has never been pigeon holed in one genre and he's never conformed. The ability to seamlessly fuse multiple genres spanning the 70s, 80's, 90's and 00' set's him apart, although he'll be the first to admit his appetite for disco is insatiable. Although he would classify himself as a DJ first and musician second, it's his productions that first drew the attention of the world. Aeroplane was the first to pick up on Mighty Mouse championing his very first remix. It was from here he went on to sprinkle his unique touch to tracks by the Gorillaz, Bent, Monarchy, Shades Of Rhythm, ABBA, Gill Scott Heron, Roy Davis Jnr, Beyonce, Kate Bush, Prince, Madonna, Moonlight Matters, Herve... the list really does go on. From here he was able to pursue his love of DJing on a global scale performing at countless festivals, and across the world whilst scoring countless top 10 and number 1 positions on the Hype Machine and garnering support a diverse array of DJ's including The Magician, Mylo, Rob Da Bank (Radio 1), Dimitri From Paris, Eric Duncan, Andrew Weatheral, and Lemon Jelly, Aeroplane, Switch, Alex Metric, Horse Meat Disco, and M.A.N.D.Y. The mainstream press picked up on Mighty Mouse thanks to his Disco Circus compilation series. They combine disco old and new, house, techno and 80's rarities. Mixmag lauded them putting the first two volumes in their top 10 compilations the year. Features and rave reviews followed in The Times, Guardian, London Metro and all the major dance press. Disco Circus 3 was released in April 2012 to further critical acclaim. Somewhere in the middle of all this he managed to release the concept album 'Song With No Word'. His consistency continues with his original music, the 'Disco Battle Weapons' EPs features tracks including 'Junglefish', 'The Beast', Electric Moonshine', 'Rocket', 'Kids In Space' and 'Moments In Space'. His two most notable singles are 'Song For Ellen' and 'Between the Pavement and the Stars', both often labelled as future classics. But it's 2013 that promises to be his most exciting year yet. He's teamed up with Matt Van Schie from Sydney band Van She for a new project called 'Du Tonc'. The first single 'Darkness' drops at the end of January 2013, closely followed by a new Mighty Mouse single; 'Love Is Gonna Lift You Up' on the 25th February 2013. In March he releases the 4th instalment of his critically acclaimed Disco Circus compilation, then an artist album in October. Further singles and EP's are finished and scheduled for release throughout the summer. This is one Mouse who will be entertaining us for years to come.
