We haven’t even reached a year since Los Angeles was first introduced to the world famous Born Electric Party, and is set to return on August 14th, with Radio Slave, Trevino and Plastic Love. Internationally renowned English producer, James Zabiela, needed only one momentous night to make his mark on dance music across the entire city, establishing itself as a marquee event not to be missed.
The man behind it all needs no introduction, especially after his unparalleled b2b set with Paul Woolford for BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix 20th Anniversary. Zabiela brings an unmatched talent to the decks: implementing custom made iPad layouts and mappings, using multiple controllers in tandem and in harmony, all the while performing live from beginning to end.
As Radio Slave, Matt Edwards has released a number of underground club hits under the label he co-founded, Rekids. Possessing a truly unique sound, DJ Mag has hailed Radio Slave as one of the greatest remixers ever. They have also awarded him the Best British Producer award within the Best of British awards. Matt has traveled the world showcasing his unmistakable ability, from his first big break as a resident DJ at Ministry of Sound to performing at virtually every major club in the world.
Also getting behind Avalon’s hallowed decks is veteran producer, promoter and label boss, Marcus Intalex. Spinning under his Trevino moniker, Los Angeles has the opportunity to catch a rare set exclusively featuring 120-130 BPM house and techno. Trevino was nominated for Best Producer in the 2012 DJ Mag Awards.
Rounding out the lineup is Los Angeles based DJs, Plastic Love. Inspired by the duo’s East and West coast backgrounds, Plastic Love instills their roots into everything from disco, house, techno, acid and more. Bas Elgharib and Jimmy Maheras have found their haven in Los Angeles, currently holding residencies at The Standard Downtown, The Vanguard and of course, Avalon.
