Along those 4 years the THRESHOLD Collective has grown to include other crews and has collaborated on many different events and projects with many like minded artists and production companies furthering it's mission on unifying all of us who's passion includes the preservation of this rich breakbeat culture. On the special date of 8.8.08 which will be the first installment of our anniversary celebration, we have decided to throw our first event on a date which numerically symbolizes consciously uniting vibes through transforming energy through our love for this music and culture. We hope the rest of you who appreciate and respect this mission shall join us down in Danbury for a great old time that will be filled with music, fun and tons of surprises. Check out the lineup below, mark your calendars and see you on 8.8.08!!! WITH PERFORMANCES FROM: ** SPECIAL SURPRISE HEADLINER ** REMARC (Kemet|whitehouse|planet mu|sub base|labello|jetstar|dollar - UK) *LISTEN HERE: http://www.myspace.com/djremarc Earlier this year in January, THRESHOLD started the new year with having out one of the major pioneers in jungle period, Remarc! And as it was on a Thursday night, there still was many of you who were not able to catch a true legend. However 2 times can be a charm and coming to consecrate our new location with nothing but murderation, it was truly an honor and a privilege to have him bless us once again with a chance to catch a true legend in little old Connecticut. Most of us first heard Remarc when darkside anthem Ricky was released back in '93. He went on to produce some of the most rinsingest jungle imaginable by becoming the ultimate don of the Amen break. His releases on Suburban Base, Kemet, Street Tuff, Dollar and White House are all sought after classics and now that drum'n'bass has turned into 2-step, clown step or whatever, and all you young'uns think that Squarepusher invented the Amen break mash-up, that's why we've re-released them on the Sound Murderer album. Stop press! We got part 2 - the Unreleased Dubs 94-96 - still rinsing, just not classics. THE PIONEER OF RAGGA-JUNGLE With tracks appearing on over 111 releases worldwide there is no questioning. If you have not heard of Remarc, its time to open your ears to the founding father of the amen sound. Now, times all of this with our new location in Danbury, which has amazing sound and will be an 18+ event and for only $10, only the daft, the idiotic, and clueless will pass up on an opportunity like this!!! AMADEUS (Touchcrew, King City Rockaz) www.amadj.com www.myspace.com/amadeus030 Originally from Berlin, Germany, Amadeus has been pushing the sounds of Ragga / Jungle / Drum N' Bass for a decade now. He rose up playing clubs and raves all over Colorado, from "Roofless Productions" and "Together Productions" Raves, to SOMA in Boulder (Mixmag voted Top Ten club in the USA), and many more. His first CD "Phonik Boom" was released on Organik Recordings (now defunct) in 2000 and the following release "Midsummer Night Sessions" (Organik Recordings, 2001) was praised by BPM Magazine as "The music is sooo fine - drum and bass bliss. Props for not being the typical band wagon monkey. If this guy is in your neighborhood give him some props!" issue 02/01, and earned him runner-up in the North-American Mixtape contest "Unleash the Beats". Currently living in NYC, he continously travels throughout the US, Canada and Europe to perform his unique style of Ragga and Hip Hop infused Drum N' Bass & Dubwise. Not only active behind the decks he co-hosted "Plan B Dnb Sundays" in NYC from 2006-2008, a drum n' bass weekly with national and international guests, and is the mind behind SURVIVAL STORY - The Ragga Jungle Compilation (www.survivalstory.net), with a second volume dropping in late 2008. He puts out Mix CD's on the regular to great resonance in the scene (free mixes to download at www.musicv2.com/artist/amadeus), works on tunes including a collaboration with new school ragga jungle legend Krinjah (free tunes for download at www.virb.com/amadeus). He just completed his 4th consecutive yearly tour which brought him to Germany, Belgium, Holland, Romania and the Czech Republic (tour blog on myspace and at http://amadeus030.wordpress.com/2008...tour-2008-blog). Known for highly energetic performances, Amadeus blends anything from high energy hipstep rollers to ragga-jungle, with an emphasis on reggae / dancehall and hip hop remixes. Always comin' correct with loads of unreleased dubplates from international producers his unique sound is defined by versatility and crowd interaction, always inciting great respect and overall dancehall madness.
