We nostalgically remember the discussions of a few years ago about what exactly bass music was, a similar topic to the sex of angels. Nowadays no-one who wants to avoid ignominy and ostracism would dare to bring this stale subject up in public, but it’s true that no-one ever gave or received a satisfactory explanation. Perhaps that’s because the best way to find out what it is, is to stop asking questions and listen to a session by a DJ who knows what he’s doing. And we know one who’s ideal for this mission: David M, a Galician established here who for a long time has been talking very little and playing lots of excellent funky and highly danceable music in any club where they ask for him, or on his Sub FM and Nasty FM programmes.
