Together, the boats of revellers formed a regatta of rave, with a sound system and dancers aplenty, before eventually alighting on Carrick-On-Shannon for the second Phase One festival. Various combinations of Sol, Jon & 110th Street residents Cyril & Cian will soundtrack the shapes being thrown on boat & in club. Jon Averill's Shock World Service has run parties in London & Dublin with a diverse range of acts including punk poet John Cooper Clarke, Optimo DJs, Mouse On Mars, Juan McLean, Rory Phillips, Joakim, Shit Robot, Prins Thomas, The Mystery Jets, Chicks On Speed, Ewan Pearson, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip & more. Jon is a key member of events such as Backlash, Airbound, Synth Eastwood, Space Camp & Nightflight all very much in the public consciousness as parties that were run with a passion and attention to detail that set them apart from the others. The Shock World Service is also a project which is a series Podcasts which have been running since 2007 (to which Cian Ó Cíobháin is a regular contributor). The podcast was started as a reaction to the ubiquity of mp3 mixes with no attention to detail, & in many cases no track listing. Each podcast comes with it’s on artwork & detailed notes from the contributor with a background on each track picked.
