This month’s guest got the opportunity to witness the wild styles of Detroit’s burgeoning techno scene, as well as Chicago’s take on "four on the floor" dance music made from crazy loops and teasing melodies, equally because of geography. Hailing from Cleveland, Jeff Samuel was influenced and matured by both Chicago and Detroit. This is heavily reflected in the way he blends house, techno and everything between. Jeff has since moved to Berlin, another music hub that blends twisted, deep soundscapes and strangely industrial textures with ease. All of this together makes for a DJ that can go in any direction at any point in the mix. We brought Jeff to play for us at Direct to Earth to listen to the influence house and techno has had on him throughout the years, to bob our heads to the grooves and shuffle our feet to the rhythms of the many scenes he has witnessed.
